PHX Station Says It Offers Job To Bristol Palin

A Phoenix radio station said it has offered Bristol Palin a job alongside its morning show host.

Clear Channel's Mix 96.9 (KMXP-FM) said it officially extended an on-air job offer to the daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

In a news release, station program director Ron Price denied the offer was a political job for Bristol, or a radio stunt.

"It is an official offer to a very well known personality, who may be looking for a new career in what will most likely be her new home state," Price said.

Palin closed on a home in the town of Maricopa in Pinal County in December.

She was offered a position on the morning show alongside Mathew Blades.

"I think that Bristol's outlook on life is probably different from mine, and that contrast could be interesting to listen to," Blades said.

Palin made headlines recently for her surprising finish on television's "Dancing with the Stars."

Scandalous! Why isn’t McKinsey & Company (Chelsea Clinton) or some other high-powered Wall Street firm hiring Bristol for a six-figure contract? Don’t they want to get theirs in early?

Wow...maybe this is why Palin is being blamed for the shooting. I didn’t know she was moving to Arizona. Does everyone but me know that she was moving?

I hope Bristol stays away from Arizona, going there could escalate something.

News of her move was posted here, along with pictures of a very nice house that she got at a good price.

Just run her name as a keyword and I'm sure some of the articles will come up.

Bristol used her Dancing With the Stars money to buy a house in the area.

Bristol Palin paid $172K in cash for a 5 bedroom, 4000 sq ft home on December, 24, 2010 in the area.

Nothing personal against Bristol but I find it difficult to believe that the majority of radio listeners would be interested in hearing the views of a teenager on a daily bases.

It is a rare teen indeed that has a well developed outlook on life. Perhaps Bristol is the exception but it would be surprising indeed if she could stand up well to an experienced radio personality.

It must be stated that radio host spend more hours in prep than they do on the air but it is not much of a replacement for years of life experience and the confidence that it brings.

I actually live in Maricopa and am hoping to run into her at Fry’s or Basha’s, the local grocery stores. Will keep you all apprised!

Color me skeptical. It may be a setup to embarrass Bristol and Sarah by association. Bristol is not experienced enough in life to handle that kind of thing. I hope she declines.

Oh, I don’t know - radio is a very reactive business, and her value will be decided by the market pretty quickly.

I commend her for moving out on her own, which is scary for anyone, and in hopefully putting a few thousand miles between herself and her son and the father and his dysfunctional family. She also took advantage of the down real estate market and will get some sun ;-)

Leave it to mom and dad to keep the freezer full of fresh protein ;-)

At least her house is in Pinal County not Pima.

You may be right.

Considering the comment from Blades about “I think that Bristol's outlook on life is probably different from mine” I would guess that he looking for a foil to which he can spin some comedic satire.

As I said I can’t see any but the most exceptional teen or young adult being up to the challenge of going head to head against an experience talk show host.

Perhaps a Phoenix Freeper can give us an opinion of Blades' radio personality.

Yes I agree but as WVNAN says above it could well be a plan to embarrass Bristol’s mother.

And of course Bristol would also be hurt even if she does make some cash.

I think Bristol could very well be in danger living in AZ right now, with the whacko liberals out for blood. If I were she, I’d stay away from that new home for a while, and I hope her parents hire private security for her when she first moves in to her new home, at least until the potential for get-back copycats subsides. I hope the conservatives that live on her block, if there are some, keep an eye out for here, kind of a block party of protectors. Good luck Bristol, it’s a rough world out here.

I don’t know if her new home (in the Maricopa community, not county) is north of Gifford’s 8th district. Any AZ Freepers know??

Warning, Will Rogers!! That's exactly why she shouldn't accept the position. It's a set up.

I live in Maricopa. It’s about 30 miles SW of Phoenix and 90 miles NW of Tucson. It’s in the 7th district and to my dismay Grijalva is our representative.
