Ashley Turton, the wife of an Obama official and a lobbist, was found dead this morning in a burning car parked in her garage.

The bizarre death has D.C. wondering what happened to Turton. Authorities said her death appears to have resulted from "a low-speed crash, an unknown medical condition, the fire, or some combination of the three," the Washington Post reported.

Turton, who was 37, lived a full life. Surge Desk rounds up what we know about her so far.

1. She was one-half of a power couple Turton was married to Dan Turton, the White House's deputy director of legislative affairs for the U.S. House.Last year, Politco included them in a piece on White House aides who are married to lobbyists. The two were well-known in Democratic circles.

2. She used to work for Congress Before becoming a lobbyist, Turton served as chief of staff to Rep. Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat from Connecticut. She also spent time as an aide to Rep. Richard Gephardt.

3. She lobbied for Progress Energy After leaving the Hill, Turton began working in 2007 as a regulatory analyst for Progress Energy, a North Carolina-based utility company. Progress Energy is also in the news today because of a possible $13.7 billion merger with Duke Energy.

4. She was a family woman The Turtons have three children, as this picture from her Facebook page shows. According to neighbors, the children are all under 5 years old. The couple purchased the home in Southeast D.C. for $826,000 in 2003.

5. She will be missed by many in D.C. As news of Turton's death spread today, Powerhouse Energy issued a statement offering condolences, and friends and old co-workers took to Twitter to share their sorrow.

There's (what used to be) a car in that photo??

BTW, it would be interesting to know what sort of contraption those (obviously not autombile) wheels were part of.

Unless it was a hybrid? Don’t know anything about them except that sometimes they burn.

I’m guessing that’s part of the overhead door framework that the car crashed through.

I think they meant to say she was living a full life. People can’t write anymore.

This is the kind of thing you say about someone when they die at 87, not 37.

That was speaking about the fullness of her life up to this point, as the writer detailed by everything she was and had been involved in, not the length of her life.

“lived a full life” ?
MSM covering for Hussein and other leftists again.

That’s like saying “Oh sure her car blew up and she burned to death, but until then, she had a very nice full life. Now everyone move on, NOTHING TO SEE HERE.”

The MSM is delusional if they think all Americans are as stupid as democrat voters.

I thought her BMW was engulfed in a fire and that was how she perished. This BMW doesn’t appear to have been that severly damaged at the rear two-thirds. Was this an engine fire with heavy smoke inside causing her inability to exit and resulting in her death due to a burnt beam wedging the car in place?

Soros-cide?

Or Gore-cide. Garage warming did it.

No, it’s called: Do you take Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3? This might work for a TV series :>))

They were in the house.

She crashed INTO the garage at low speed and her car burned.

As a lobbyist and with a BIG merger deal pending, she may have pulled an all-nighter at work (or been partying), came home at dawn, passed out as she pulled into her driveway and just drove straight through the door into the garage

In that part of DC, driving those streets at 5AM, she may also have been a crime victim. You have to go through some real bad areas to get to the rich folks’ blocks of restored old homes. Many of those old garages are actually carriage houses from last century- pretty nice places to restore but scary streets just blocks away

If she hit gas cans in the garage, the car burned, as she was unconscious at the wheel

All speculation is breathless gossip pending a cause of death

..., poisoned, car-bombed, murdered, or some combination of the three.

...but what caused the fire?

"...but what caused the fire?"

Why, the "unknown medical condition", of course.

Was Ms Turton in the wrong place at the wrong time? Did she get caught overhearing something about taking out the AZ congresswomen?

Only asking because Giffords, et al shooting and this incident may be Obama's way of telling us that the 2012 elections are underway.

strongest opponent Palin is being maligned in what appears to be a concerted effort by the press and the lefties on the Internet....

Oh and notice that this is the second unbalanced college student taking a dive for the man ... involving Palin in each strike... Palin's hacker remember?

It didn’t say ‘long life.’ They meant to say she ‘had it all’ without sounding stupid.
