Governor Jan Brewer’s speech at the obama circus was appropriate, too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xN07UPqBOg

But at least a few obamabot yahoos booed her!

This event is a travesty of national proportions, which I hope will backfire royally on obama and all his minions.

And as a son of the Great State of Arizona, I feel the pain both of the tragedy and of this horrible exploitation of it in my own heart. Lord have mercy!!

That’s because the murdered were soldiers and well, you know how the left feel about our military

And the rest of us.

“I’m still trying to figure out what “Together we thrive” has to do with anything.”

I would bet money that this is (or was) the campaign slogan for 2012, with the word "Tucson" substituted for "Obama." Otherwise, it's a pretty short turnaround to develop and focus-group a slogan, design a logo, and get T-shirts printed. Depend on it: this was all ready to go beforehand, except for "Tucson."

Which one is tackier? The Thrive crew or Westboro Baptist Church?

Hard to say today.

Perhaps WBC stayed home because even they can’t outdo the thrive crew in sheer tastelessness the likes of which have not been seen until today.

I think the thrive gang is tackier. The WBC is beyond vile. Apples and oranges.

But I will say that looking at the photo on Drudge, the party-goers and cheering section at the memorial service look like a bunch of SEIU workers. They really do. The service was held at the University of AZ auditorium. The fact that all those T-shirts were placed over the chairs in advance of the crowd tells me this was all set up by obastard’s advance team. He tried to act surprised, but the placement of rally T-shirts in advance of him arriving tells me otherwise. It was all orchestrated, probably by union operatives that leftist political activists at the university was more than happy to go along with. They wanted to stage a scene of success for the man who urges that they bring guns to fight conservatives and/or people active in the Republican Party.

“Together We Thrive” sounds like union speak. I’ll bet the farm the SEIU was behind it, at the behest of obastard’s operatives in his advance team.

I'll look for a similar photo from a source that is not blocked for FR. Meanwhile, take a look.

Looks like the shirts have "ActionAmerica" written on them.

A quick search turns up this site, which describes ActionAmerica thusly:

The purpose of Action America is to provide uncommon conservative insight into the political issues of the day, always with an eye on the "original intent" of the Constitution in mind. We used to refer to ourselves as conservative/libertarian. However, many big-L Libertarians and many in the Republican Liberty Caucus seem to have jumped on the "Blame America First" bandwagon, so although we do support original intent constitutionalism, we now find it necessary to distance ourselves from those people, to avoid being dismissed, as just more libertarian kooks, by association.

Hmmmmm.

As far as I’m concerned, they can be lumped into one group, especially after this spectacle.

Not to these scumbags. They could care less about the people who died...it’s all about Obama now and how *violent* conservatives are and how we need to shut up and just let the marxists drive the country over a cliff.

If you want to look at the thing obastard and the left have said to and about conservatives and compare them to the Westboro clan, I’d agree. But the Thrive group? They were sickening in their rah-rah union-style behavior, but that in and of itself is not as vile as the Westboro clan, Paul Krugman, Bill Maher, Sarah Bernhardt, Alec Baldwinn, Paul Kanjorski and obastard. Thrive (whatever/whoever they are) were not screeching “God Hates Fags!” while the families were grieving at the memorial. Their cheering and outburst style of applause were very inappropriate and out of place, but cheering and outbursts of applause are not inherently vile like the WBC’s activities. It was pretty sickening to watch obastard sort of respond positively to it. A real leader would have put them in their place with a gentle reprimand that this event was a memorial and politely express his hope that all in attendance would show the decorum befitting the purpose of the gathering.

He didn’t.

Much as I detest obastard and his supporters, I just cannot equate their behavior last night with the likes of the Phelpses. Other statements from the left at other times and places, yes, last night, no.

Both groups hijack sacred and solemn events for their own twisted purposes. Zero and his crew just have a little more finesse than the other group.

Phelps and his lot are helping the left by making Christians look bad. If they aren’t in the same group, then they are at least on the same evil side.

I agree that they’re on the same evil side.

But we were discussing a single event. The rally atmosphere that the obastard supporters created does not get us to the Phelpses.

Let me see if I can give you somewhat of an analogy: if you and I were friends, standing in the same room, and you were about to put a needle full of heroin into your arm, I’d do all I could to stop you. But if you were going to light a joint, I’d just tell you that you’re an idiot and shake my head.

Neither you nor I know if the obastard rah-rahs were a one-night stand or if they regularly, actively support obastard and left wing causes. But even if it’s the latter, that’s a separate issue because it has to do with what they think and believe. The BEHAVIOR itself did not rise to anywhere near the level of visceral hatred and antagonism that the Phelpses generate through their BEHAVIOR.

FWIW, I thought the obastard rah-rahs looked like typical SEIU scum. But they did not ACT like the Phelpses. Their behavior was inappropriate, to be sure, but it was not downright repulsive and bile-raising like the Phelpses are when they show up at an event.

I find SEIU thugs every bit as repulsive as WBC.

So do I. In fact, in terms of the SEIU’s usual operations during elections, they’re far more damaging to the country than the WBC people who focus on annoying and hurting grieving people at funerals with the hope of inciting physical confrontations so they can sue (most of the WBC clan leaders are lawyers). By and large, the SEIU and their related UAW, Teamsters, public employees unions and ACORN ilk are far more damaging because the reach of their evil is so much broader. But in terms of single acts of pure malice for no perceivable purpose, nobody can match the WBC. When I picture that Shirley Phelps in my mind, I see a genuine witch oozing evil with the fires of Hell licking around her horrid face.

I don’t know if the Thrive group is SEIU for sure, but their behavior at the Memorial was not as bad as what we would have seen from the WBC had they shown up instead.

I think it’s apples and oranges.

I despise WBC because they make believers look bad.

I’ve always felt the reason those people are left alone is because they help make people(ignorant ones anyway)hate Christians.

I wish there wasn’t such a war on Christianity, but I understand the reason for it. Aside from the basic good vs evil is the fact that Christianity can bring so many people together and true believers cross all kinds of socioeconomic barriers when they interact with each other.

The Christian faith kills the seeds of class warfare that are continuously thrown about to divide and weaken humanity.
It allows people to see evil for what it is no matter how people try to dress it up.

I’m so glad WBC didn’t show up. I couldn’t stand the thought of those people at that poor little girl’s funeral.

I think the real reason for the attack on Christianity relates to the Declaration of Independence and the constitution that embodies its precepts.

Our rights are endowed by our Creator, not the state. Until the left completely undermines Christianity, it cannoy fully undermine the constitution as this nation’s governing document.

I don’t think the left cares one way or another if a bunch of people go into a pretty building and pray to an entity they believe in. It’s that our most important and sacred governing document derives from that same belief/faith, and it completely thwarts their ability to control us through the supremacy of the state inasmuch as the state is not recognized as the ultimate, supreme arbiter of our rights because of the constitution.

Every major dictatorship, be it communist or fascist, has had to: 1). Disarm the people. 2). Make worship and religious faith a crime against the state.

The left must destroy Christianity in order to undermine the constitution so that the state, run by men hungry for power and fortune, wields the final word through arbitrary law that gives them enforced control over all resources and
human endeavors.

The constitution is not taught in our leftist-run public schools anymore. ‘Rat congress members scoffed and complained about the constitution being read on the floor of the House of Representatives. A well-known “journalist” stated the other day that the constitution was outdated inasmuch as it was over a hundred years old and doesn’t reflect the modernity of our society (words to that effect). I could go on for ten pages about all the means by which this effort is being pursued.

The war on Christianity is just a piece of a much larger agenda.
