UA Taking Requests for Memorial T-Shirts (Together We Thrive Massacre Souvenirs)
KVOA ^ | Thursday, January 13, 2011

Posted on 01/13/2011 3:55:38 PM PST by kristinn

Over 26,000 people attended last night's memorial service for the six people tragically killed Saturday, and the University of Arizona has received a flood of requests for T-shirts commemorating this service.

At this time, they are unable to provide information on where to get a shirt commemorating "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America," but they will provide that information soon.

The UA Office of Student Affairs is handling requests for T-shirts - those interested can call them and leave contact information. The office will send out information on how to obtain a shirt at a later date.

Call the UA Office of Student Affairs at: 520-621-3772

This is our country without a Judeo/Christian culture.

It’s a “T-shirt rally” culture.

FWIW

The university said it did the planning with minimal input from the White House. The school paid for the event, including $60,000 for 10,000 T-shirts bearing the words "Together We Thrive." The shirts were handed out for free. T-shirts. The money will not come student tuition, fees or tax dollars.

My guess is that it is not legal for the UA Student Association and the Obama campaign to enter into a joint fundraising venture by selling campaign tee shirts.

The Arizona AG needs to look into this.

Memorials, funerals and even religion itself, leftists debase everything. They cannot do otherwise because for them nothing is sacred but their dehumanizing leftist dogmas and ambitions.

The “memorial” was a great start of Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. National exposure and all expenses paid by the taxpayers of Arizona to boot.

Minimal input, hence input.

So where did the money come from and who made the request for the shirts?

That money could’ve helped the families with funerals and medical bills... Instead of t-shirting a pep rally.

Just a little hard to believe that anyone in the Obama Administration did not discuss with anyone at UA plans for the so-called memorial. Haven’t we heard that this is the most controlling President in years as far as who is allowed to speak and where they are allowed to speak? Now we are expected to believe that this President, who probably has his breakfast plans orchestrated, knew nothing about the t-shirts, the venue, the crowd, etc. Either someone is not being honest or the weight loss is getting to Obama’s head.

Funeral Etiquette: Attendence, Condolences, Attire - For Dummies does not specifically address whether it is okay to give partisan campaign speeches and sell commemorative t-shirts at a funeral or memorial service. Perhaps this is just a cultural difference between Americans and Indonesian Kenyans, and we shouldn't dwell on what seems to us like a gross breach of decency by the usurper.

Maybe they’ll take it out of revenue generated by the football or basketball teams... or siphon it off monies received from school-owned patents, etc (that should have gone to scholarships...)

It’s disgusting.

Where did the money come from the Print them up and give away in the first place?

I feel the "together we thrive", is more of an illegal alien statement, it really does not mean anything/make sense in regard to the shootings.

That is still not to say it was not from the Progressives, to let not a crises go to waste.

Given the U of A President's adoring introduction of Obama, I seriously doubt that it took much coordinating to get things done.

More like, “How can I serve you Mr President. Just say the word and it shall be done”.

Another FWIW

FoxNation.com spoke to representatives at University of Arizona BookStores who revealed the vendor they used...."Youth Monument," a Los Angeles-based company specializing in "the hottest" college brands. "I don't feel comfortable commenting on the story," said Nick Ventura when contacted by FoxNation.com. Ventura called himself "a partner" at Youth Movement. When asked if the University of Arizona was a regular client and if there was any contact with the White House or any political group he responded "no comment."
