The way the press tells it she successfully negotiated Campo Tire’s sale to GoodYear. That Gabriella has some business smarts. Campo Tire was a chain that was started by her grandfather

That is the way the press tells it.

Not only did she drive it under (or just not resuscitate it), you should have seen some of the comments in the newspaper (in '06) about how she badly she treated employees, firing them, etc. Detailed stories and not just from one "disgruntled" employee.

As long as her heart is beating and she can sit in a wheelchair the Democrats will have her voting even if she were braindead. Remember the last days of Robert Byrd?

Ofcourse it never occured to the aide in the Congressmens office that sent the FBI agent to his home. BTW, I spent many wonderful days when I was a child in the Ozarks. An incident (which I have previously related to Freepers) that led to the Murder of a beloved relative at the hands of DEMOCRAT POLS forever turned me against Democrats. I know just how dangerous they can be when their power is endangered.

Apparently that strain of power hungry pols has not changed.

Completely. I know there are many examples of presidents who should have resigned, including FDR, so crippled and mentally ill he turned over formerly free republics to the Communists...
It never seems to matter if they’re Dems!

It’s long been rumored (I have no proof on this one), that Gabby lives in Houston most of the time already. It’s OK for them to tell SP to go home and be with her family, but OK when one of theirs allegedly lives a long ways away? And if she was already living in Houston most of the time, what kind of representation was that??

But to survive a brain shot, then come back to the political arena, isn’t this a bit of a stretch. Are there a number of cases, where someone who has been shot thru the brain, returns to functional normalcy?

Judging by the current level of political functional normalcy in Washington D.C., do you really want an answer?

I don’t know... but the elated local press is sure happy that BO turned water into wine at UMC the other day, and made all the cripples walk, and made Gabby see again.... So I figured he had completely healed her (ever since his visit, the media is ranting and raving about how fast she’s progressing).

Thank you. I’m mostly relaying stuff I personally saw, or try to make it clear it’s what I read. It’s important to remember some of the truth after all this canonization.

I had to enter here with a comment....my apology to kristinn for my comment on something so far off the original topic of the thread...

Borax Queen (btw, I think I am preaching to the choir), if the public could be made aware of all the money being used by our elected reps at the federal and state levels used each year for personal benefit of those reps or those reps family members, Americans would do something, I would think. What Americans would do, I do not know. The problem is the press (media) does, I repeat does cover up these types of activities normally, if learned by their investigations, or those persons investigating, in the media, quietly go away. Who has time to read every bill, every signed law and go through all the garbage to find what is actually in the bill or signed law? Most state legislatures have so few who are actually attempting to read and understand all the paperwork, there is no possible way, those few individuals can keep up with the paper flow....imho

Of course if something is found... then what? Think of what can be done by an elected official to a low life reporter, or investigator. Everyone is scared these days because there are track records of many who found the who, what, when, where, and why and suddenly, those persons having found such were swiftly moved aside or worse.

I realize my words do not speak well of what is taking place in our nation. I have witnessed some things, not as a reporter, (rather a simple citizen). I would and have called into question, or a family member called into question something found unethical or illegal, and presto if a powerful person happened to be in the area of the questions' direction, all heck would be upon myself or that family member in a heartbeat. This forces one toward other avenues of information gathering rather than direct question asking, once something is found. Thank God, this site is one where other avenues of information may be pursued in relative safety, I hope. One can never tell who is reading and who is warning other, who may be pursuing unethical or illegal behavior.

And everything is a matter of record.
The interview where she called us horrible names on the “Arizona Illustrated” program is probably still online (if not, I’m sure PBS has copies). I was even going to ask her why she did that (in a polite way of course), if my raffle ticket had been called at one of the town halls. I still have my notes from the question I planned to ask — because at the time, she was already crying about how mean we were being, yet she was calling us names!!

This is one of the quotes, from a commencement address, where she proclaimed how she disregarded what the vast majority of the constituents wanted (NO ObamaCare!), and referred to us as “the mob.”

GG: “Standing up for one’s own integrity makes you no friends. It is costly. Yet defiance of the mob, in the service of that which is right, is one of the highest expressions of courage I know....”

I’m not sure which time sparked a filmmaker making the video called “I am the Mob.” It was a very nice film about the ordinary, non-scary folks protesting ObamaCare and other things. It looks like it was removed from You Tube by the filmmaker or I would send you a link.

I’m sure you’re right.

It had already made me so upset that SHE was so upset when one of her constituents dropped a gun at the Safeway in Douglas. They never really explained why that happened, just tried to make a huge drama over it. It was ALL over our papers then, but no arrests and no explanation (someone’s holster was undone?).

Boo hiss to Huffington Post, but the comments are pretty good: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/10/gabrielle-giffords-town-h_n_255656.html

I think that she should have looked at her open border policies which more or less require people to carry guns, especially so close to the border! How many friends I have who can’t even visit their relatives without carrying practically an arsenal.

Instead, all the fingers pointed at us (the hated tea partiers and those opposing her), as if a simple accident was something more meaningful.

Thanks much for those details...Of course are the opposite of what Gifford’s puffed up public biography is. She seems like a nice person but not too bright
