The Memphis Democrat has been called out by Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" for his "wrong" choice of words. He's gone toe-to-toe with Anderson Cooper on CNN, who called him a hypocrite. Rush Limbaugh called him "pathetic." And people across the spectrum have called on him to apologize.
His newfound notoriety stems from a Tuesday night speech in which Cohen called Republicans' talking point about "a government takeover of health" the kind of repeated "big lie" Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels perfected.

It’s not the Volunteer State which put this reprehensible human being in office, but rather one district of the State...just take a look at his district boundaries and be educated!

As for Cohen, he’s no different than Goebbels himself as one FReeper mentioned upthread.
The problem is the oe is what we use to spell the umlat o of the German language. We simply don’t have that sound in our language so when we pronounce the oe it just comes out naturally with the r sound on the end.
Now, if you want to say it truely, without the “er” sound, say “ay” (like in say, day, ray, etc) while rounding your lips in an “o” sound.
Mr. Cohen is like the little leprechaun who likes attention. I just remember him as the rabid proponent of the lottery in Tennessee. I’m sure there’s a lot more garbage there, but these Democrats in Tennessee make me real tired.
The words “nazi,” “holocaust,” “goebbels,” “hitler,” and all other related epithets are one accusation from losing all of their original meaning, thanks to self-serving psychos like this idiot.
Vapid charges from vacuous morons like cohen have done immeasurable violence to the English language, and have totally rendered many formerly useful words totally without impact.
Liberals bear the blame for this. And they continue.
We can only hope that republicans understand that being branded any of the supposed epithets in vogue among liberals means nothing. But if history is any guide, they will run scared of the nazi label and give odious frauds like cohen a victory.

Gail, as much as I despise Willie Herenton, I wished he had beaten the loathsome Cohen. I hated him then and I still do.
