Given the chance to interview Katie Couric, I wouldn't ask her what newspapers she reads. I'd want to know how she understands her role as anchor, and why she thinks it's appropriate to express opinions on controversial issues of the day.
For that's just what she's done on the subject of gun control, expressing disappointment that Pres. Obama didn't raise it in his SOTU.
Describing her dissatisfaction in her "Notebook" yesterday, Couric asserted that PBO's failure to raise gun control put a "cloud" over the SOTU.

I still don't know why one of the three doesn't try to truly differentiate themselves. They see how convervative, American values dominate the airwaves. Would be the same for TV.
I’m not against “anchors” giving their opinions. In fact, I think they should more openly declare their political affiliations, since they all have them and to pretend that they don’t is BS.
On the issue of guns itself, of course, empty-headed-Katie is as knowledgeable as she is on nuclear physics.

I guess that Katie would like access to Obama's teleprompter so she could program in her pet peeves. Gun control takes guns away from law abiding citizens, so only criminals (and federal authorities) have guns.
Maybe if Couric would take a look at news analysis written in Great Britain she would have a better understanding of the weaknesses in Obama's ineffective, pathetic, and platitude ridden SOTU speech. What about Sudan, Afghanistan, substance in connection with our debt, and a host of other absent words?
Couric does have a pretty face if she but smiles and keeps her mouth shut.

When Couric interviewed Ann Coulter it became painfully clear how stupid Couric was.
She was also disappointed that infanticide, death panels, and euthanasia were not mentioned.
