Hillary! rode her husband’s coattails into power. She is where she is simply by standing by her man in marriage. She is not the accomplished, self-made woman the left would have us believe.

And her boss’ resume consists of rabble rousing, campaigning and editing a newsletter somewhere.

I don’t expect them to know what to do.

or is something very serious afoot. This Egypt thing has them scared to the core i think.

The a scared....well without any poo... they all left brown stains on the Oval Office floor this weekend.

Add onto the emergency meeting of the Treasury department ...

I'd say their little regime change attempt went very badly and they didn't have a back-up plan.

Now is the time to lay in some reserves. This is going to be a very, very long haul and the whole world has changed. 0bama and his clan have successfully made the world a very hostile place. Freedom loving Egyptians have traded in their dictator for the bonds of Muslim Brotherhood slavery.

The longer Mubarak holds on in Egypt the more time the world has to prepare, but now is the time to lay in the last of your own security plans.

Sound and fury signifying nothing....appearance over substance.

Agree. And I don't get the concerns over security of communications. She's going to communicate a secret message to 260 envoys and expect it to stay a secret??

I wonder if he told Mubarak there's a new Sharif in town.

This Secretary of State makes Maddy look good. As usual the academics were caught unaware of world situations.

One can not know the pulse of body politics when all you do is meet with the couterparts in plush environs without looking outside.

Hildabeast is a fool, or idiot savant if one prefers.

Perfect pick by Obama.

When hillary was running for pres, she had about as much leadership and management experience as obama. She is just like obama except in different packaging. Since she and her boss have no clue what to do about this mess, they are going to convene all the ambassadors, some of whom actually have experience. They will cherry pick the best ideas and put in motion. If it goes well, then obama and hillary will take the credit. If it goes bad, then the poor sucker who offered up the idea will get the blame.

She might be throwing another statue party.

Her statue parties are very popular.

It might be that Clinton will be giving marching orders to the State Department not to reduce anything to e-mails and two conduct business only orally. This would be a very dangerous modus operandi.

If that's what she wants, why wouldn't she put out that directive (i.e. one phone call at a time, it would take 500 minutes (or less if she divided up the work). If she puts out a directive like that in front of 500 people, it is not as effective nor as secure.

Yep, a PR stunt.
What is the envoy to Lower/Upper Transesstan got to do with anything?

Why by meeting? Simple. None of the COMS to the ambassadors are secure enough to give out the marching orders and policy changes, without them leaking.

The leaking of meeting notes is easier than leaking a cable. Like I said in previous post, the most security would be one-on-one phone calls which are guaranteed secure and unrecordable.

More importantly, the ambassadors to cushy countries where the most they have to worry about is wine selections. The main reason to get everyone in the room (besides the PR aspect) is to force everyone else down to her level of misery (and stupidity).

Well what do you do about Egypt...storm ashore with multiple divisions of troops (a la Octavius Caesar) and just take over the place?

There’s nothing that can be done now except evacuate.

And blame the Republicans, like with every other crisis the Obama Administration had to face. (”It’s not our fault, we inherited this mess”)

Clinton may be reading them the riot act because for years(whether run by democrat or republican administrations) the department of State has always done their own little thing with departments acting like their own little caliphates regardless of what the SOS would like them to do. The Ambassadors themselves in many cases are pursuing contrary directions to that of the US instead of representing the best interests of the US! Hence for years the US has been hamstrung in foreign policy by these weasels in the foreign service and presidents, both Dem and Repubs have been partially blinded! That needs to stop!

Might be a good for an ambassdor to announce he is retiring, to open a bowling alley some where, tell Hilary to go suck it.
