All Senate Republicans appear ready to repeal health care law By: CNN Political Producer Shannon Travis

Washington (CNN) - Every Republican in the Senate now appears ready to revoke President Obama's signature health care law. This comes as a federal judge, in Florida, strikes down key parts of the law as unconstitutional.

The GOP holds 47 seats in the Senate.

According to Sen. Jim DeMint's office, 45 of them will co-sponsor the South Carolina Republican's legislation – introduced last week - to fully repeal the health law. Republicans are "standing with the American people who are demanding we repeal this government takeover of health care," DeMint said at the time.

DeMint's office told CNN it did not yet have confirmation that Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran would sign on. But CNN contacted Cochran's office and confirmed that he would.

Voting on a voided bill seems like an effort in futility.

Belt-and-suspenders "futility" is OK with me. Besides, make Harry Reid sweat over holding the vote, which would put all the senators individually on record fer/agin.

There are no brain cells functioning in DC with an occasional exception. You know the names.

That’s what I was thinking. There are 47 Republicans, all of whom are on board. Currently, Democrats are expected to have 23 seats up for election, including 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats. We only need to convice 13 out of 23 that voting against repeal would be a path to early retirement. It can be done!

Rebellion is brewing!

WOW! And how!

All 47 set to vote for repeal!

It's reckoning time for the 51 democrats and the 2 so-called Indy's: Lieberman and self-declared Socialist Bernie Sanders.

Woo-Hoo!

Making all of the Senators go on record as for/against is more than just “for show.” It’s something that can be used during the next election cycle. And should Obama veto the repeal, which he likely will, that COULD cost him the next election. It would be a clear indication that he doesn’t give a damn about the will of the people.

My proposal is to trade a 6 month increase of the Debt Cieling for total repeal of Obamacare, and the Repeal is passed by both Houses and signed by the President first.

I meant it will have no bearing on whether the law will be repealed or not. That is what we were talking about, right?

“The vote will be for show.” Thanks. The point is that if you can figure out what’s actually going on, someone can come up w/a way to address it.

Bobbsey Twins of Maine & the Boston Bimbo too?

All three voted against the bill the first time, so I don't see why they wouldn't be in favor of repealing it now. Sure, they could make up excuses to flip-flop, but I seriously doubt they would considering the popular support out there for repeal.

Manchin, McCaskill, Stabenow and Webb almost certainly will have to vote for repeal if they want even a shot at another term. Especially Manchin. And once it becomes clear that it will pass, look for even more democrats to try to curry favor with their constituents and pile on.

Ben Nelson has indicated support for at least a partial appeal as well. Maybe the bribe he secured for Nebraska isn't looking like all that sweet a deal after all.

All Senate Republicans appear ready to repeal health care law

I would hope this is the case. I would suspect a few Democrats as well would choose individual liberty over state tyranny if there is a vote.
