Guy on now has blindingly brilliant academic cred, and he’s saying that since insurance is commerce and the Constitution says it’s fine to regulate commerce

Let's take a look at what the Constitution really says:

Article I, Sec. 8

The Congress shall have Power . . . To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes

Health insurance is NOT interstate commerce. I am not allowed to cross state lines to purchase insurance. Health insurance does not qualify as "Commerce among the several states". People that are this ignorant of our foundation of law have no business serving as lawmakers.

Amen!! Oy, Leahy on now, I must mute!

Funny how none of them used the “we have to pass it to know what’s in it”.

and that is exactly why I have been against allowing insurance to be sold across state lines.....once that starts, the feds can then seize control, and we would have backdoor obamacare....

Of all the speakers,Randy E. Barnett was the most effective. At some point,I would love a c-span excerpt where he cautions the Senators to do their job. His admonition was rivetingand it was priceless to see the Senators reactions. If have not seen his WSJ editorial today, here it is, a good precursor of what he said this morning:

I completely agree. He also mentioned the ruling in FL.

Michael Carvin was pretty effective as well.

I neglected to mention that his co-author for the WSJ article was Elizabeth Price Foley. She is also a legal scholar and a advocate for individual freedom, she comes to her conclusions from a slightly different direction, see her book, “Liberty for All: Reclaiming Individual Privacy in a New Era of Public Morality”.

Charles Fried, it appears that he is a bit combative, in spite of any rational reasoned questions thrown at him.

If a lightening bolt bounds from the heavens, through the roof of the Capitol Building and strikes Sen. Franken unconscious, or worse, it’s my fault as that’s all I have been hoping for since he started running his sarcastic and annoying mouth.

You are quite correct in your evaluation of Michael Carvin. Note how he responded to the non-lawyer Al Franken. (Is he really a US Senator)?. If so explain to me all the derision over the fact that Ronald Reagan was an actor.

Contrast Franken with Senator Mike Lee,Utah, former law clerk to 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals Justice Samuel Alito. His questions should be included in all law school studies.

Trust me when I say....it won’t only be YOUR fault. Although mine was “stop his heart now”.

I didn’t say that by the way.;)

Dellinger opining what he believes should be the conservative position - that's beyond rich.

It also tells me that he nervous as hell that the Supremes are going to throw this whole steaming pile, right out the back door.
