My friends MIL (American) whose deceased husband was from Egypt. Her MIL was a teacher in Egypt for over a decade and goes to Egypt once a year.
She is traveled to Egypt before this mess started. She was staying on the coast of Egypt before she traveled to Cairo. She had no idea this was happening due to news black outs within the country.....now she is stuck but safe (so far)
Why any American travels beyond our borders is a real head scratcher to me...

You may want to rethink that tip of the hat to the writers.
The implication is that those people were actually the secret police. (Mubarak’s)
It may have been your take that they were intimating that it might have been anti-Mubarak people trying to make Mubarak look bad. I’m not sure they want to make that case, being anti-Mubarak and all.

Being that Cooper is a known homosexual, I think real Muslim protesters would have killed him. Smells like a fraud to me.

The only solution is to send Geraldo to Cairo to do man-on-the-street interviews. By himself.
Or maybe with Shep Smith, too.

Notice they are saying it is pro-Murbaraks people who are doing the threatening. I dont know for sure who it is, but, surely, it cant be the peace-loving anti-government people Well, in this case I could believe it.
The Media is supporting anyone who takes an anti-Western tact - be they islamics, leftists, or whatever -- and wraps them in the fake gown of 'fighters for democracy' (aka, 'mob rule'). So if you are an islamic or leftist scum - you understand the Media is on your side. If you are pro-Mubarak - you're probably P.O.'d at the Media tools.
Of course I also acknowledge that you have leftists who will try to agitate, and you have Media who will lie -- so 'who knows' ... but I could believe it that the pro-Mubarak folks are applying most of the bashing to the Media.

Well, the media has been intimating that the pro mubarak "mob" is laced with his security forces, too. So I guess I missed the distinction.
However, I'm happy to retract any undue credit given to the western press. Their performance has been and continues to be farcical during this whole thing.

Just came back from two weeks in Israel. Felt safer there than here in California.
Wonder what the report was thinking? If you go poke a stick at a barking dog, well you may get bitten.

I wasn’t looking for a retraction. SAT
Our current press is absolutely terrible.
My fave moment was when Shep Smith stated that this current unrest across the Middle East was like the Iron Curtain falling there.
And what’s worse, he didn’t get a moments grief over it.

Stupid liberals....do they think their goodness will protect them?
They do! Liberals think they are good little soldiers in "The Struggle" against capitalists and the rich, and that the protestors will sense this and it will be like Woodstock (except without the nudity, drugs and mud). What liberals do not realize is that this is about religion, specifically the Muslim religion, which does not tolerate anything else for any reason. Muslims hate anyone who is not a practicing Muslim. End of story.

I wonder whether MSM will consider their experiences in Egypt and revise their characterization of the Tea Party as violent racists, bigots, etc.

When did Hosni Mubarak suddenly become a Good Guy?
Well, he's honored the peace treaty with Israel. He has suppressed the largest organization of terrorists in Egypt (which has the support of some 60% of Egyptians according to polls). The viewpoint of the new government of Egypt is that the army should prepare for war with Israel. I'd say that in comparison, Mubarak's a pretty good guy. http://barenakedislam.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/muslim-brotherhood-tells-egyptian-army-to-prepare-for-war-with-israel/
To: GOPJ
Exactly what are they doing? Sticking their nose in a country that is none of their business. I know I wouldn’t be happy if some foreign reporters were over in my country messing in my business.
These reporters are over there to make news, not report it, and a name for themselves. We don’t need them there.
