First Super Bowl Without Cheerleaders Has Some S-A-D, Others G-L-A-D
Fox News ^ | February 2, 2011 | Hollie McKay

This weekend's Super Bowl clash between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will be the first in the game's 45 year history sans cheerleaders.

The Packers and the Steelers are two of the six NFL teams that do not have pom-pom squads, and they haven’t had them in years. The Packers did away with their cheerleaders in 1988 after market research indicated fans didn’t really care, and in 1970 it was an “organizational decision” to dissolve the Steelerettes.

Wow! I was going to just ignore your posts but seeing you jump on Allegra that way I’ve come to the conclusion that you really do have some “issues”. Good grief....lighten up. No one made you look at the photos on this thread. If they offend you so much, just go away!

The out of wedlock birth rate and the state of morality in America clearly doesn’t matter to you as long as you’re satisfied.

You're disgusting and you have demonstrated that your mind resides in a gutter much filthier than than any of those you are accusing here.

Maybe someone can fill us in on what the US history of cheerleaders has been. Did they with their batons and pom-poms only appear after prayers were forbidden in gummit schools? Were they present before, but had to wear chadors? What take have traditionally religious schools taken on the issue? Some context would matter. The idea of the gals (as a group) cheering on the valiant efforts of the guys (as a group) sounds pretty wholesome as long as blatant sexual come-ons are studiously avoided.

Sounds like our friend donna is the only one who's putting sexual connotations on this.

Perhaps there's a strange obsession there? ;-)

I'm with you. Posting images of these cheerleaders, (many of whom are not that nice looking), is rather a foolhardy endeavor.
So, *I* will lend a touch of class to this thread...

You know, you could just move to the Middle East and live with the rule of ISLAM and never have to see a cheerleader again.

If you found any ‘cheerleaders’ wearing skimpy clothing, you could have them beheaded.

Just be kind to the people who have no other place to go.

No one is trying to be unkind, but you are being so hard-headed.

When I click on ASTRONOMY threads, There are usually pictures of GALAXIES. It should be no surprise that there would be pictures of CHEERLEADERS on a thread about cheerleaders.

Would you have the same 'resentment' over pictures of ICE SKATERS ???

I thought this might be good news that decent men, in the position to do so, would provide a wholesome environment for young boys who don’t need the excitement and for old men who are tired of embarrassing their daughters.

You are ignoring the fact that these girls and women CHOOSE to be cheerleaders.

I know I’m late to this thread (work during the day) but had to chime in for the men.
I really hate when FR has “hate women” threads. This is NOT one of those, this is an “appreciate women” threads.

There is nothing wrong with appreciating women. I absolutely appreciate men. I admire not only their strength but also their form.

Who can blame a man for loving women? Sister, you need to back off and appreciate the men in your life. They are different from us and should be supported by good Christian women.

You are intimidated that anyone who appreciates the opposite sex. Got to agree with many here.

If you hate sex, why did God make it so wonderful between men and women?

What would you prefer that God gave you?

Actually, it's nbot uncommon for NFL cheerleaders to come to the bases in the Middle East and perform for the troops.

The Vikings cheerleaders were here last month. A certain person on this thread would have been quite appalled at the eagerness of our men in uniform to go and see them. :)

All y’all’s conservative daughters should enjoy this thread.

I'm a conservative daughter and I see nothing wrong with this thread. I'm not wild about seeing pics of cheerleaders with 55DDD bosoms spilling out all over the screen, but then I'm not a man and it takes me less than a second to scroll down. If the thread was loaded with them (which it isn't) I would just move on to another thread, not scold other posters for offending my sensibilities.

Except for posts 1 and 106 (the latter of which is just a picture of liberals shoving their "pink agendas" in our faces), the photos on this thread are modest compared to what I see all the time at the beach. That's where your ire should be directed because kids should not be subjected to g-strings (aka bathing fashions) at what is supposed to be a wholesome, porn-free public place.

I goofed. The bunnies are out, and chicks are in...

Don't miss Puppy Bowl VII, beginning at 3 p.m. E/P Sunday, Feb. 6!

And be on the lookout for the "chicks" on the sidelines with the addition of chicken cheerleaders.

Thank you. I hadn't thought about that aspect.

Still, I don't think the civilians have the benefit of being able to see their 'own' cheerleaders at football games/stadiums.

I'm not sure if they even have football stadiums.

I'm pretty sure that Medea and the others in Code Pink shove their own 'pink agendas' in each other's faces.
