I'm here in the interest of being more neighborly. Maybe we would have gotten off on a better foot if I had brought over a fruitcake when we first moved in.
I understand the significance of your obligations to your shareholders. I get it. But as we work with you to make America a better place to do business, ask yourselves what you can do for America.
I want to put more people to work rebuilding crumbling roads and bridges.

He didn’t really say this did he? If so enough with the road building already - didn’t we have all kinds of that in the original stimulus bill? Do we really need more. Obama has no solutions. He keeps pulling out the same garbage over and over.
On my way home every night I stop at a stop sign. Right across from it is the big giant (couple thousand dollars worth?) of sign that announces the road improvement that is going to happen any day now. Two years later, all I can see was generated was the sign.
He’s lucky no one told him that he IS a fruitcake.
He looked like he had spent the night on the business end of a crack pipe with depression setting in during the comedown.
The only thing that matters is what Obama means by his comments to the Chamber of Commerce.
And that can be boiled down in just three words: GO **** YOURSELF.
Do away with these pesky constitutional restraints, he means.
I want to put more people to work rebuilding crumbling roads and bridges.
So, if we’re building crumbling roads and bridges, do you need a shovel or a sledgehammer? And if they are already crumbling, why do they need to be rebuilt? Kind of like his efforts to rebuild our crumbling economy. Freudian slip.
I’m sure he said...and meant...every word you see here. He absolutely believes it because it was written on TOTUS.
It will be just as virtuous as MY administration is transparent.
He says this in a dismissive manner, implying that somehow generating gains for shareholders is a selfish endeavor and that these profits should instead be "shared." I've heard the same line many times over from other liberals.
What they conveniently forget is that this nebulous group of "shareholders" is in reality populated by pension funds, retirees with independent investments, employees with stock ownership plans, etc. In other words, the very group of regular people that Obama so imperiously demands that the Chamber of Commerce devote more profits to is the very group that would actually be hurt by redistribution of corporate profits. Aside from the direct negative effect upon employee and retiree (and other) shareholders, there would be the indirect effect of reduced hiring due to the double whammy of reduced overall financial viability coupled with an increased cost of hiring each employee.
Stupid beyond words.
“The business of America is business” - President Calvin Coolidge
Then after if sits idle for most of a year and people forget a road was ever there, they will get around to rebuilding it in reverse piecemeal fashion.
Then, usually sometime in September or October, maybe 18-24 months later, they will have a big opening ceremony to show off what they've done. The union cronies, of course, will pocket pay for the entire time when the road was out of operation, including the 80% of that time when nothing was being done.

0bama hates bidnesses and bidnessmen. I can no longer continya listenen to his jive talk.
FDR put an excess profits tax on American corporations.
This is where O is heading.
I think his virtuous cycle has a flat tire.
I keep hearing about “crumbling raods and bridges.” Why is everything suddenly crumbling around us? Meanwhile, here in Phoenix, some of our roads are pretty darned nice. The 10 is in great shape. Take it out to California all the time... Weird.
“In other words, the very group of regular people that Obama so imperiously demands that the Chamber of Commerce devote more profits to is the very group that would actually be hurt by redistribution of corporate profits.”
Actually, I think the people he has in mind are idle enough to be “community organizers.”
