Put me in the category of someone who finds those new bluish halogen headlights to be a road hazard to oncoming traffic. Why the DOT approved them is beyond me.
I think you mean the xenon lamps.
I agree, I hate those darn things......

Quit bitching about better headlights. They work. Keep amber tinted driving glasses in the car, it will moderate the oncoming light and improve your overall night vision.
agreed I hate those headlights.
I have the rear view mirror which darkens the lights behind in my car but when you come towards those headlights they blind you
I HATE those things. Any time I encounter a car with them, I just turn my brights on to make it fair.
AMEN!
There are the equivalent to driving with your brights on.
I agree with you on that remark, especially when they top a hill. I really hate the drivers who are too busy or forget to hit the low beams for oncoming traffic. The high beams even blind you during daytime hours.
Those lights are ridiculous and a hazard. DOT is run by complete morons.
My BMW’s xenon headlamps automatically position themselves below eye level of oncoming traffic based on the weight of the cargo in the vehicle. They also turn in the direction of the steering wheel around corners.
You can take my xenons FMCDH.
I agree with you about the intense blue lights, but they are not simply “halogen”. Halogens have also been around for years as standard, but the blues are a different item.
I used to work at a parts shop 20 years ago, selling old lights but mostly halogens, and shortly after that, these horrid blue lights were EVERYwhere. Now, they are not NEARLY as plentiful as then, thank God. In fact, it’s become so rare now that I NOTICE when those confounded things are coming at me - such as the other night. I think people have complained enough that car co’s stopped making them standard on their new cars.
I’d be ok with them if they were for brights only - since they do provide better lighting and your not supposed to use the brights with oncoming traffic anyway....course there will always be the uncourteous, but we get those anyway.
We won't have to worry about blue headlights because the EPA is increasing the mandated percentage of ethanol in our gasoline......which will shut down our cars and alleviate the problem.
I’ll second that. Those overly bright lights, even when supposedly on low beam setting, are annoying and distracting.
I agree... I”m prone to migraines and those lights really bother me.
Completely agree. Every time I see them, I think, “Bright lights. Great. You’ll be able to see every detail of the oncoming driver that you blinded as he swerves into you head-on.”
Let’s see....are they made by GE? That would explain why they were approved.
I’m with you. I hate them.
