“He should have photoshopped his head onto a picture of Vladmir Putin.”

Hah! Good one!

Thanks! I probably should have trademarked that line...

Dadgumit. I was hoping we could remain at full strength in the House a while longer. I'm sure Cuomo will take his sweet time calling the special election.

Might be the most GOP seat in the state. That doesn't mean they can't F it up by choosing a loser nominee. How stupid is this guy Lee? Did he really not realize random women he sends photos to might be able to identify him? There are more discreet ways for a Congressman to get some strange. Craiglist? Really Congressman Lee? Feel bad for his kid, talk about embarrassing.

Did you guys read the ad, the jackass shaved 7 years off his age. Also described himself as "classy". LOL. Fail.

Look for his big comeback as the new spokesman for Just for Men: Touch of Gray.

what a maroon (to quote Bugs Bunny)

Grinning. There is a cartoonish feel to this...a shirtless picture and he resigns? C'mon.

And yet, and yet, had he been a Democrat, he could have fessed up to all his indiscretions, whilst saying, "It's a private matter," or whatever Clintoon said.

Nope, there's something else going on here. His resignation must change the balance on some committee, or something...I confess I haven't been paying careful attention to the political part of the story...

This seems extreme if this is all there is to it.

Sorry to be blunt here, but what a frickin’ dummy. How he thought this would somehow NOT become public is beyond me.

Really! Maybe it's just a cover story for something else like blackmail or something.

As very soon he will be a Divorced Lobbyist.

Thanks for the chuckle. I guess I should also thank Lee for wrecking his life for my amusement, but that just seems mean.

It’s hard for me to express how much this pisses me off.

It’s not that the guy has weak judgement. Or that he slipped, or had a goofball moment. Or that he was so foolish that he could fail to consider how all this social media BS is instantly public and a universe of insect and bacterial sub-life is ready, willing, and able to destroy anyone with an open wound, particularly if the victim is a Repub. Or even that his actions would appear to be unfaithfulness to his wife or prelude to same. He *may* have just been *playing*, not necessarily *playing around* and letting some dark energy out. Call me naive, I haven’t seen the evidence, nor do I care to. Nobody is perfect. I do not expect perfection.

What pisses me off is the work that was done by people who are deeply sincere and righteously concerned about the future of their country and the giant, smelly turd this stupid little jerkball left in the middle of their living room carpet.

LOL! Thanks!

I just know that somewhere...somehow...Paul Shanklin or "Weird Al" Yankovich(?) are furiously scribbling the parody lyrics "I'm Gawkin' at the Man in the Mirror" to the tune of a Michael Jackson song.

I really should trademark that...

He should not have resigned. If he were a Demo, he would receive an award for this. It is between him and his wife. Period. Barney Frank let’s his pal run a brothel and he is still in congress.

Fine with me. Glad he was only in his 2nd term.

Get rid of the morons now. I’d like Boehner and Cantor to put the entire caucus on notice: clean up your personal lives. Dump your mistresses, quit drinking to excess, and start living right. We’re not heathen Democrats.

So it shows a callous disregard for your wife, it shows an exceptional ability to make very poor decisions (not a good characteristic for someone you want to represent you), it shows a great lack of morality (remember, this form of gov’t is suitable only for a just and moral people).

Additionally, that behavior is a characteristic of the lefts mode of operation.

THAT is so what.

“So, again, why go to Craigslist and pretend to be a lobbyist?”

The ONLY thing I can think of is that he wanted anonymity. As he apparently saw it, the Congressional Groupies would be part of a network that could come back to haunt him. To these groupies, what’s the sense of having an affair with a Congressman if you can’t brag about it. Whereas someone from craigslist wouldn’t be tied in any way to his office. Sort of the same thinking as paying for a hooker, rather than becoming involved with anyone at the office.

Underlying is a man in need of serious help. I’m not too sure that if he weren’t in Congress he wouldn’t have become involved with something like this back in Western New York, but without the headlines.

If this guy would just change parties, he could keep his job, be the darling of the media and could run for President in 2012.

Gawker coincidence we speak of:

According to the woman who submitted the images, she had originally posted an ad on Craigslist asking, “Will someone prove to me that not all [Craigslist] men look like toads?”

In response, Lee, 46, sent her the first image, in which he was fully clothed, along with a description of himself as a “fit, fun, classy guy.”

He also identified himself as a 39-year-old lobbyist. As the conversation continued, Lee provided a second photograph of himself, in which he was shown partly undressed and flexing his arm in a mirror. When asked, Lee, who is married, told the woman he was divorced and had one child.

After receiving this information, the woman, identified as a 34-year-old government employee from Maryland, searched for Lee online and quickly found his official pages. Upon concluding Lee had lied about his age and occupation, she sent the correspondence to Gawker Media, who published it soon thereafter.

Lee’s spokesmen, when contacted by Gawker, confirmed that the e-mail address used in the Craigslist conversation was the representative’s own. The address in question is apparently linked to Lee’s personal Facebook page. Upon further questioning, Lee’s spokesman finally provided Gawker with an e-mail sent from Lee’s personal e-mail to his staff about a potential security breach in his e-mail account.

The e-mail was dated Friday, Jan. 21, a full week before the conversation during which he provided the suggestive image.

According to metadata associated with the photograph, it had been taken with a Blackberry — Lee’s mobile device of choice — in Washington D.C., meaning that putative interlopers would have had to access the photographs on the device.

“lewd photos” ? [shirt off?] ... “characterized by or intended to excite crude sexual desire;
obscene
a. wicked
b. ignorant

lol

I think this is more him telling the government worker who went to Gawker media immediately as a Lefty..that he was divorced with one child—having his wife see he said he was divorced was the kicker!! That part might come true? Then he can pose shirtless all he wants when someone asks online if he is a “Craigslist Ugly”, not to be confused with “Coyote Ugly”.

What would a female government worker on the Right have done??

Setting aside the moral issue for a minute, I for one am glad our party is rid of someone SO stupid that he would use his real name for something like this.

A few of us have discussed online “dating” and Craigslist before and you know my opinion - STAY THE HELL AWAY ! ! ! The couple “dates” I got from it where exercises in how quickly I could come up with an excuse and bolt out of where I met the person.

This guy must be a real knuckledragger to be putzing around on CL. A US Congressman resorting to CL? REALLY? Republican or no, see ya later doofus.

Nothing beats good ole getting out there and actually meeting women. “FindASuck.com” just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Of course, you could get lucky and find a horny HS teacher or maybe a member of Glee when inevitably that crap goes off the air prowling on CL. Look for handles like “CATwinkieLover” or “IWasOnGleeBangMe” or “WhyWaitTill18?”.
