Twelve for '12: A Dozen Republicans Who Could Be the Next President - Sarah Palin
Time Magazine ^ | February 14, 2011 | Feifei Sun

Posted on 02/14/2011 2:26:41 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Age: 46

Last held public office: Governor of Alaska, 2006-2009

No one commands the adoration or loyalty of John Q. Republican quite like Sarah Palin. Master of folksy quips and pitch perfect populism, the former vice presidential candidate has fabulous base appeal. Her personal story of carrying to term a Down's child gives her unquestionable credibility with anti-abortion activists. After a gig with Fox News, two books, a TLC reality show and two years of swarming attention from the national press corps, the Palin brand is as potent as it is ubiquitous.

One of the characteristics that make Palin so popular with the Republican base is her unshakable one-against-the-world mentality. In Palin's eyes, the "Lamestream Media," jealous rivals and good old boy establishment are working tirelessly to undo her. It's a compelling narrative at a Tea Party rally, but it hasn't much helped her standing elsewhere....

That's a very good assessment. You could add a number 5 to complement the liberal viewpoint in #4 and that is:

5. The liberals also took careful note of #1 and quickly understood the potential of Sarah. Looking at the sabotage from within and without the McCain campaign (reference Going Rogue), the RATs put out the marching orders early.

Is she doing more good now, or when she was governor? Case closed. You, Sir, are an easy mark for a spin doctor. Bob

In Palin’s eyes, the “Lamestream Media,” jealous rivals and good old boy establishment are working tirelessly to undo her.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This is laying the ground to say that Palin has a screw or two loose. She has a chip on her shoulder, unfit for office...petty minded...LOL.

Time magazine was rebuffed by Palin recently!

She is NOT knuckling under like she should! /S

They are all out to ger her, They asked to interview her last month, and she said” Apologize to me and my friends, and I’ll think about it.”

Time has been cut off from Palin, and now as she has more public presence, they want her to help them sell their rag.
She said no, and now they want to destroy her. It is such a laugh.

Sarah is not playing the usual game with the media. She is holding them accountable for what they have said about her.

Palin Crushes Time Magazine Over their ‘Lies’
Fox Nation ^ | February 12, 2011

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2672890/posts

From that thread article ( Fox Nation):

***********************************

Sarah Palin’s recent email to Time Magazine Congressional Correspondent Jay Newton-Small started off congenial enough. The mood soon shifted dramatically when Gov. Palin attacked the magazine over the “total lies” that had been published about her. Included in her email is not only a call for a retraction of the false stories, but a demand for an apology to Fox News’ Sean Hannity and Christina Aguilera who were both included in the story Time ran. The text of the email follows:

“Subject: Great job, MSM!

Jay - pls tell your bosses there at Time Magazine thank you for the invitations to attend the upcoming functions. I’ll sure put a lot of thought into those invitations.

Then, have your editors retract Time’s most recent ridiculous lies about me supposedly giving Sean Hannity a radio interview wherein I supposedly talked about Christina Aguilera (that I slammed her for her Nat’l Anthem mistake, and called for her deportation, etc). You guys were fooled into running a fake story that even US Weekly pulled and apologized for their blunder. Total lies - and you guys (once again) even put quotation marks around things I have never uttered. Then, Time needs to run an apology to Christina along with the retraction. (Add Hannity in your apology, too...those good folks don’t deserve to be in a caustic, untrue story about me.) Thanks much - keep up the great work, Time Magazine.”

( from Sarah Palin)

*******************************************

Time is so pished that Sarah Palin punked them:” What goes around Comes Around.”

The whole MSM knows about it. Sarah in not in the least cowed by them. It drives them bonkers because Sarah Palin SELLS magazines and papers...more hit pieces to come.

You need to sit down and read Chapter five, "The Thumpin'," of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue An American Life. There you will get the truth; not talking points that have been passed around like rumors do when they get a life of their own.

The republican field does look pretty lame. I like Romney for the simple reason that we need a business minded person in the WH, but the guy also has a very weak streak.

I think he can beat Obama, but anything can happen in the primaries.

Palin, should hold off announcing candidacy until the others have played out...

The field will offer an excellent debate, that I look forward to. I would like to see Newt and Trump in there to shape the debate.

They don’t have to rail on each other, just go after Obama, then unite....

Sarah has a good chance of winning over the hearts and minds of the people.

Anyone, who second guesses or under estimates her will be in for a surprise.

REagan was extremely sharp at the time he ran against Ford. He was still the first four years of his presidency.

Palin, has solid conservative priniciples....

Debating Obama she will not come across as racist as the ultra white Romney and others will.

But, I see the economy languishing badly... oil prices going up... and we’re in store for a Carter moment somewhere in the world... as we know this president hasn’t the courage to send troups in when they’re needed.

A smart operator will seize American assets... and squeeze...

It might even be Iran again...

The Ballad of Sarah

Out of all the Mama Bears
You know you're the mastermind
Run Run Sarah
Rand Paul ain't too far behind

Run run Sarah
Tea Party will take you to town
RushBo make her hurry
Tell her she can take the beltway down
Run run Sarah
'Cause I'm reelin' like a merry go round

Said Sarah to a boy
Child what have you been longing for?
All I want for Christmas is a
Rockin' candidate on the card
And then away went Sarah
Whizzin' like a shootin' star

Said Sarah to a girl
Child what would please you most to get?
A little bit of hope we can
get out of this mess
And then away went Sarah
Whizzin' right past all the rest

Run run Sarah
Tea Party will take you to town
RushBo make her hurry
Tell her she can take the beltway down
Run run Sarah
'Cause I'm reelin' like a merry go round

Run run Sarah
I'm reelin' like a merry go round
Come on run run Sarah
I'm reelin' like a merry go round

Palin had an incredible political achievement of defeating the incumbent in a primary then a solid shot at cleaning out the 'good ole boy' corruption.

That being said, I came to the realization when reading about Ann Coulter on another thread that Sarah Palin running for President has as much of a chance as Ann Coulter.

They are similar. Both are love them or hate them types of people - in similar rabid fashion. Both are intelligent and capable of making very cutting, and accurate, statements of hyperbole that elicit cheer from the fans and screams from their detractors. Both are media personalities guaranteed to get good viewer ratings with a dose of controversy.

Palin does not make a decent Presidential candidate but like Coulter, she makes for a strong protagonist for the Right.

All the vituperation which I have received on this does not obviate the fact that she quit in the middle of her term. My respect for her [which had been appreciable up until that point] has greatly decreased - and that was because of her action, not mine.

I fail to see the point in hr remaining governor when all her time was consumed with fighting frivolous lawsuits sponsored by the left to destroy her. Any REAL juge would have tossed them and fined the plaintiffs. She is doing much more good now. The left uses law as a club against political enemies, and I wish that our side would become more sophisticated about this reality. Bob

Good post. My biggest qualm about Mitt is his socialistic, big gov’t reign in Mass. I can’t help thinking that he’s a fraud. Best,Bob
