I wasn’t “trying” anything. I will look up your reference. It’s something I wasn’t aware of, so thanks in advance.

So you disagree. Fine.

A prowler? Let me share something with you: I’ve heard noises in our house before. The first time, I woke up my husband and expected him to get up, then realized, why couldn’t I do it? Guns, and their owners, don’t differentiate genders, and I’m a good shot. So now, when I hear something, I get up and fortunately, it’s always been nothing. If it is something, someday, I’m ready. My husband travels a lot, so being scared because I’m female doesn’t cut it. And my husband is fine with this because he trusts my judgement. And because he sleeps like the dead. Years ago, when I was single, I did wake up to find 2 men in my apartment. I got up and got them the hell out.

Have a good day.

Muslims routinely call Jews “monkeys” and “pigs”. Then they want to rape Jewish women. So does that mean that they want to have sex with monkeys and pigs?

What!? She couldn’t have made her report from her hotel- room window? No...she didn’t deserve what happened to her but if she can’t exercise better judgement than that, then she’s too stupid to be left unattended!

“A prowler? Let me share something with you: I’ve heard noises in our house before. The first time, I woke up my husband and expected him to get up, then realized, why couldn’t I do it?”

I admire your ability to defend yourself, however, IMO it is your husband’s job to defend his wife and home. In general men are better suited physically and mentally for combat (and more expendable than females). Massage his ego and give him an opportunity to be your hero. Just my 2 cents.

I hope she doesn’t get involved with news stories in Islam- Swinedom again.

Muslims should have Animal Keepers cover their events instead of reporters.

Yes it takes two but this woman’s judgement is suspect, IMO.

Yup.

If my company sends me to a foreign country, and gives me orders to go stand in the middle of an angry mob, I say "Consider this my notice! See ya!". Plenty more work out there.

And I'd forgotten about the "sex scandal" that she was wrapped up in awhile back. It was hot topic on FR for a bit.

Take your oversensitive self and stuff it.

Such class.

Did I say it was wishing evil on others, no, it's worse. A person that wishes harm on others knows they're doing it.

These comments aren't wishing evil on others, no, they're implying that she deserved it. Well, did she?

I hate to tell you that this is anything BUT a free forum. Make racist, sexist, and other remarks of that nature and see how free it is. Free Republic is a respectable forum and they stay that way by eliminating trolls who use that kind of language.

There's a think called class, you lack it.

Unfortunately the world has gone selfishly mad and the thing of prime consideration is whatever it is a woman wants to do she will do regardless of others or obligations.

Sharia law addresses just that

Presidents, in my view, put themselves in harm’s way by accepting that office. Either mothers can put themselves in harm’s way, or they can’t.
Driving is more dangerous than being president.
I doubt that you can make that case statistically.

OTOH, even if that has danger associated with it, there is a difference between a woman becoming POTUS and a woman going into harm's way as a policewoman, a soldier, or (in this case) a foreign correspondent. The difference - so obvious that it goes unmentioned - is in the value to society of the woman's service in each of those professions.

With all due respect to those other professions, what does one cop or soldier more or less recruited into the ranks matter compared to one mother lost to her children? The possibility of loss of the mother of several children is still grevious in the case of a president - but the value to society of a President Palin rather than a second term of President Obama is on a completely different scale from the value of one more cop or soldier.

Again, it's her fault??? Was she wearing sexy lingerie? those poor Muslims just couldn't help themselves.

Reporters are frequently in situations that are dangerous. She was supposed to be protected by her camera crew and her security staff. She wasn't alone until they got separated. On top of that, wasn't she covering the celebration of Hosni Mubarak resigning?

One question I would like answered, was she assigned to cover this celebration or did she just do it on her own? Now, this sounds sexist, but, if someone sent her into the fray knowing how Muslims view women, then that person bears some responsibility, too. Either that or they bought into Bush's religion of peace B.S.

Nail, meet hammer. The only proper response in this thread is like your first sentence.

It is no one’s fault other than the attackers. I hope she is doing well and heals quickly.

Quick, to the point and expresses empathy.

Welcome to FR. I wonder what the response would be if it had been a man.

"Again, it's her fault??? Was she wearing sexy lingerie?"

Doesn't matter what she is/was wearing. She is a Western woman; therefore, a whore to be groped and raped.....as is mooslim custom.

"On top of that, wasn't she covering the celebration of Hosni Mubarak resigning?"

You sound just as naive as the left, lamestream media and her.

"One question I would like answered, was she assigned to cover this celebration or did she just do it on her own?"

I don't think it matters. She knew, as we ALL do, except for those lefties and are "immune" to these monsters, what a dangerous situation it was.

It was a freakin revolution!! Would YOU have put yourself in that position? If assigned, she should have told CBS to shove it. If she volunteered, whatever happened to her is on herself.

Wasn't she also arrested prior to this incident? After that, she should have had the common sense to get the hell out.

This is from another thread....

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2674202/posts?page=28#28

Lib reporters seem to think they are immune...yet they are the first to get their a$$ kicked.....and STILL go back for more.

There's a reason why the media are imbedded with our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To send her on a job with no protection?? What happened to common sense??
