Look for Obama to ban it.
Drill, baby, drill!!
SHHHHHHHHIIISHHH! Loose lips sink drill bits!
It’s in North Dakota, not one of the 57 states.
peak oil anyone?
Ping!!
Same with New York State. The Southern Tier of NY sits on top of the Marcellus Shale Formation but the State won’t allow the drilling for natural gas!
Frackling is a big bone of contention around here.. many farmers have allowed this and had flammable “water” coming out their faucets from their well water. .
Buffalo has just passed an ordinance against it.. but it is getting a big push on local TV showing the method being done in Penn.
I would not want it done on my land.. I do not think it is YET perfected ...But I hope they get it soon, because we need ways to tap our own resources
After what the Country goes through over the nx year or so, Big “O” will be the one screaming “Drill Baby Drill”.
Uh oh, the muslim brotherhood won’t like this. They’ll be on the phone to Barry quick.
I’d want it. Let those profits roll into my bank account. I’d buy bottled water.
We also have enough gas in the Marcellus shale to last us 300 years.
The enviroweenies and their Dummycrat allies in PA are trying to ban drilling for it.
I wonder how they are operating in the East Texas field. I do know that when the field was developed drilling techniques were awful. Salt water encroachment began almost immediately and wells were so densely drilled in and around Kilgore that the field was virtually cut in two. There is still a lot of oil mixed with water in the formations.
Don’t confuse Bakken shale with Ghawar limestone resevoirs, one can have wells producing thousands of barrels of oil a day the other maybe hundreds with a quick decline rate.
That’s exactly what he wants. he wants us all driving lil’ electric pieces of crap, taking his high-speed choo-choos, or walking.
The enviroweenies want us to go back to 1850
I am not nuts about living on a ticking bomb :)
I’m sure the enviros will ‘find’ something like a bird that looks pretty much like all the other birds of a certain type that has an abundant population, declare it a separate species, call it something like the Northern West Fork, East Bank, Conglomerated, Long-Tailed, Pin-Striped, Split-Footed, Night-Eyed, Black-Beaked, Recessed Winged, Riparian Prairie Skipper and proclaim it endangered, spread some feathers around so they can multiply it’s range by a factor of 10 and call that it’s ‘habitat’ and lock up several states to any kind of oil development.
I’m surrounded by gas wells. NOT on my property dang it! This area is ripe with them. Haven’t heard any complaining locally.

Good video with data and informative animation about the process:
