Obama demands Egypt round up thugs who brutalized CBS reporter

More Print The White House yesterday demanded the Egyptian government round up and bring to justice the thugs who brutalized CBS foreign correspondent Lara Logan in Cairo's main square.

"We believe that those responsible for these acts need to be held accountable," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said of the prolonged beating and sexual assault on Logan by members of a 200-strong mob.

And a State Department spokeswoman said the United States expects an "investigation and accountability for anyone involved in violence during the demonstrations."

"We've raised it publicly and privately," spokeswoman Leslie Phillips said.

The call for justice came as a concerned President Obama phoned the recuperating "60 Minutes" reporter.

"The president called her at her home around midday," a Logan family friend told The Post.

Obama asked the veteran war reporter about her condition and expressed his concern, the friend said.

In New York, a spokeswoman for the Egyptian Mission decried the attack and said the turmoil-wracked Arab state would investigate all attacks on journalists covering demonstrations before and after the fall of Hosni Mubarak last Friday.

"What happened to Miss Logan is by all means unacceptable and shameful," said spokeswoman Nihal Saad.

Yesterday, Logan, 39, was home in Washington with her husband, Joseph Burkett, and two children. A deliveryman brought flowers to the couple's fieldstone-and-brick Tudor-style home.

Inside, Logan also huddled with a senior colleague and pal, Kelli Halyard, head of CBS communications.

Does Obama ever do anything but posture?

Compassion? Obama? I seriously doubt it.

He has known from childhood that abusing and even enslaving infidel women is absolutely approved Koranic behavior, so the outrage is a pure political ploy, like everything else he does.

Will there be a follow through, I doubt it.

"What happened to Miss Logan is by all means unacceptable and shameful," said spokeswoman Nihal Saad.
Meanwhile, the number of Egyptian women who are "legally" raped and beaten and murdered each day is how many? And who calls it unacceptable and shameful? Certainly not Saad. Certainly not Obama. Certainly not NOW. Certainly not a single male muzzie on the planet. Certainly no dimowits in America.

But yes, let's all get appropriately outraged by the attack on the Star Reporter, who herself, I suspect, won't say a single word about the plight of muzzie women all over the globe.

Not.

One.

Single.

Word.

The worthless media whore.

I’m sure the Egyptian military can find a bunch of poor saps to take the fall because the American Sheik demanded it.

Hell, no...just like he won’t do diddly about Iranian warships near the Suez Canal. He’s a dildo.

The fakery is getting ridiculously transparent-—the only transparency about this regime!

No ill will intended toward Lara Logan. No woman, not even an obnoxious one or even a prostitute deserves to be raped and brutalized-—not for any reason, least of all Muslim reasons.

This event happened more than a week ago and he is JUST NOW releasing a statement?

Guess he needed the teleprompter programmed with his statement so he could read it.

He is so transparent.

With American reporters having been attacked the last few weeks, the response has been weak at best.

Just as Israel was the only one who sounded the alarm over that incident.

How long did it take him to comment on the Gulf oil spill? Three weeks? And the he proceeded to use the situation to wreak economic destruction on all those red states.

Obama has spoken properly in this instance. He MUST speak out about the attack on Logan and tell the Egyptian Government, such as it is, that the thugs responsible must be punished. I have no doubt that Mubarak had a vast system of informants in place who regularly ratted on others. That system is probably still intact, and for a reward, I think it is likely that a lot of information on the thugs will be provided to the authorities in a short time, and it is possible that names have already been provided. As in anything, I might be wrong, but the authorities have a much better chance of finding the culprits than it appears.

Obama INSTIGATED the thugs.

Is there ANYONE left who does not believe he screamed
with joy as this woman was gang raped, just as he
was happy when the 911 Atrocities were happening?

I guess what you’re saying is true, I don’t know.

What I do know is that the media, of which Logan is charter member, will NEVER tell the story of the plight of about 700 million women on earth who happen to be SLAVES in “Honor” societies where rape, beating and murder of women is all quite legal.

When they start to take a serious look at that issue then I’ll start to take them seriously. As for Logan, pardon me if I don’t get all weepy.
