Wisconsin Labor Unrest Could Go National

Democrats and Unions Badger GOP in Wisconsin

“I've said all along the thousands of people who are storming the capitol have every right to be heard, but I'm not going to let them overshadow the voices of the millions of taxpayers in the state of Wisconsin who deserve to be heard, as well.”

-- Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wisc., “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren”

Union protesters and Democrat lawmakers will attempt to prevent for a second day a vote in the Wisconsin Senate that would increase public employees’ contributions to retirement and health benefits and strip unions of the power to bargain for higher salaries.

The battle in Madison has become the epicenter of a national fight between newly empowered small-government conservatives and Democrats backed by government worker unions. The grassroots political operation of President Obama, who on Wednesday denounced the austerity legislation as an “attack on unions,” has swung in behind the government workers. Organizing for America, the activist organizing wing of the Democratic National Committee is helping keep the pressure on Republican lawmakers who plan to pass the legislation today.

There was an episode of Andy Griffith where a spoiled rotten brat moved into town and kept riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. After repeated warnings to the boy and his Dad not to ride on the sidewalk, Andy finally impounded the bicycle and arrested the father.

At the climax of the show, after Andy told the boy his Dad would have to stay in jail if he wanted his bike back, the little boy screamed, “I don’t care! I want my bike!”

Look around folks. The union workers don’t care about everybody else (the taxpayers). They just “want their bike”.

There is talk locally in my area of our teachers orchestrating a “sickout” as a show of solidarity with the WI teachers.

I'll see their 'sickout' and raise them a 'lockout'.

Realistically, if 25% of the teachers walked out on sick leave with faked illness, they should be fired. There's enough depth on the bench for the other 75%, along with a few recruits, to carry the load and to do so for a lot less money than the present gang of greedy libs.

I thought this was NOT part of the bill. Could Fox (again) be wrong? Even with BOR's crack research staff?

Who among us, for some time, hasn’t had that gut feeling that we were all about to blow.

I have little patience for libtard perfidy. I prefer to act quickly and forcefully in response to their horsesh*t. I can't tell you how many times I've walked out my front door with my shotgun in hand looking to see if my neighbors were as fed up as I was (e.g. TARP) only to find that nobody else was outraged. (Probably watching American Idol or Jersey Shore.)

There is talk locally in DFW, NE of FTW, of teachers staging a "sickout" as a show of solidarity with WI teachers. If they do, I'm going to have a conniption. It won't be pretty.

Look, I don’t know what you’re implying here, but cut it out. Stick with your popcorn and watch this terrible BACKFIRE blow back on Obama and every democrat.

These crowds are going to implode on themselves, and they are exploding Obama’s chances for re-election. THEY ARE EXPOSING THEMSELVES, to be exactly what the conservatives said they are. (Beck must be loving this!)

Do we think the Independents, who will elect the next president actually LIKE what they are seeing on FOX NEWS, of Wisconsin anarchy?

We need to figure out a way to support the Wisconsin governor, a way to show solidarity with the efforts of the brave Republicans standing up against the unions.

This may elect Chris Christie single handedly. He has been the Paul Revere leading to what we are all seeing on the tv today, on standing up against the juggular vein of Marxism, the unions—leading a great turning point against the take over of our country.

I think parents should show their solidarity with the principles of our Nation and pull their children out of the government schools.

For all the past Democrat rhetoric, this is called overturning the results of an election. When elected representatives refuse to do their jobs because they don't like being in the minority, representative government breaks down and elections become meaningless.

This has all happened before. Years ago the unions got a little too demanding and violent in their protests. When the dust settled, states across the south had passed right to work laws. I think its time for the Rust Belt to have a go.

I'm not implying a damn thing. If the teachers in my area stage a "sickout" and the idea spreads, it's going to be a disaster economically. It will cost businesses across the nation billions of dollars if parents have to stay home because school is closed.
