ALBUQUERQUE — As Senator Jeff Bingaman shook hands of those congratulating him on his years of service, he turned to the crowd and said: “Sure seems like a wake in here, doesn’t it?’’

The 67-year-old Democrat announced yesterday that he would retire after the end of his current term, which ends in two years. The decision was the latest in a string of departures to hit congressional Democrats as they head to the 2012 elections.....

It looks good.... the Democrats are losing red and purple state seats - that favors a certain GOP Senate takeover in 2012.

NM is much redder than it was a few years ago.

Bad news for the ‘rats. I suspect that Bingaman doesn’t like being in the minority...and one of the perps of the still to be determined demise of this country.

He’sa greenie-—good riddance.

Bingaman seems to win his elections very easily so I have to wonder if a conservative could win the seat.

On the other hand, NM just elected Susana Martinez governor. She seems to be rather conservative. Hopefully, there is another individual from the right who could run to replace Bingaman. How about Steve Pearce-—how is he working out in the House?

The other question-—who will run on the Dem side? Has Bill Richardson expressed any interest in the Senate?

There are a lot of career 'rats jumping ship. All this tells me is that they have a full understanding of the magnitude of the disaster they have foisted on America for personal gain, and they are getting out with their piece of the pie.

The Republicans who inherit Congress are going to have to make swift and sweeping changes, risking insurrection on the part of the unions, the liberals, and the parasites, in order to begin to turn things around, and the Conservatives will be blamed for the mess, even though it is already in the works.

The only buffer will be State-level action to mitigate the mess the Federal Government is attempting to foist upon us all. Failure to take the risks (politically) necessary to get that done will only lead to greater problems down the line, and quite possibly rioting and bloodshed.

EVERY battle is important, not just to the area in which we live, but to the nation in the long run.

Congresswoman Heather Wilson looks like the early favorite. She looks generally good but has a few bad votes. She’s not good on immigration and she voted for Bush impeachment hearings for lying about WMDs. But she’s ok with the Patriot Act and warrant-less wiretaps and has a 10% NARAL rating. Voted no on GM bailout.

Probably a little less than 50-50. If they are smart they will find a good Hispanic Candidate like they did for Governor.

Great news! We get rid of another Demo-Socialist. NM elected a conservative woman as governor (Susana Martinez) so there is a good chance Bingaman’s replacement will be a conservative.

Remember all of the speculation right after the election as to who the Tea party ought to target in the next election?? I felt then it was too early to set any real goals because we had to see who would be staying and who would be retiring.

While I am not surprised to see the exodus taking place, it is proceeding a lot faster than I could ever have hoped. The earlier these guys announce they are not going to run gives the Tea Party more time to come up with good, competitive candidates and let them start raising some campaign cash early.

Keep those retirement announcements coming..!!

Congresswoman Heather Wilson looks like the early favorite.

Please don't say that. She is so insipid that in a debate she would lose to a cockroach running across the stage floor. Domenici could have passed is legacy on to someone with just a bit more personality. Also, hate to mention this but we are talking about New Mexico, and so one has to wonder just what exactly are her Hispanic credentials.

These RATS are very smart. Jumping ship now in advance of the conservative tsunami started this past November and continuing now in Wisconsin and other places. The second wave comes in 2014 when we keep the House and take the Senate and the Presidency.

Who could blame them?

I railed at him about the horrible food supplements bill and he sent me back a bunch of globalist rationalilzations stuff. I new he was a hideous traitor to begin with. That sure proved it.

I think the longer ‘serving’ traitorous DEMS know what’s coming down the pike and are getting out while they can.
