In CNN interview, veteran reporter refuses to call comments urging Jews to leave Israel and return to Europe insensitive, says Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is the real insensitivity.
The Jews did not have to leave Germany and Poland following the Holocaust since they were not being persecuted anymore, former White House correspondent Helen Thomas said in an interview on Thursday, adding that the Jews had no right to take other people's land.
Thomas, 90, stepped down from her job as a columnist for Hearst News Service in June of last year after a rabbi and independent filmmaker videotaped her outside the White House calling on Israelis to get "out of Palestine."

Not to worry Helen, the overwhelming majority didn't leave, which is why the majority of Israelis were from Arab nations until the 1990s. Think how much worse things would have been if Hitler hadn't killed them, rather expelled them and confiscated their property, as your Arab breatheren largely did. There'd be more Jews in the world for you to cope with.

Did I mention you were ignorant? Following the Holocaut, Poland was convulsed with massive pogroms. And also, before the massive wave of Jewish immigration in the 1860s, following the Ottoman imperial Land Reform Act, Israel was sparsely populated, due to the fact that it was a miserable wasteland. The Jews developed it, draining swamps, fertilizing deserts, and then and only then did the Arab population increase, and that was well before the Balfour Declaration of 1917, let alone the Holocaust of 1939-1945.
