Troopers visit Sen. Miller's home
"Dispatched by state Senate leadership Friday, Senate sergeant-at-arms Ted Blazel and an officer from the Wisconsin State Patrol knock on the door at the Monona home of Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller in an attempt to bring him into the Capitol and obtain a quorum."

I wonder.
If you are right, and there is no law, and they are WILLFULLY just not there; I would think that the quorum rule is non-biding.
By just deliberately not being there, they show they don’t care. The Repubs can proceed, because the Senators aren’t being prevented from attending.
What say you?
Miller is the last one they’ll catch. He and some black woman Senator were filmed at NIU in Dekalb IL yesterday saying they would stay out of WI as long as it takes to force the Governor to sit down and negotiate with them, and went on about how well their “not a stunt” was working. You’ll find this guy clinging to the last jug of Kool-Aid...
“This is not what democracy looks like” ... that’s pretty funny. He’s right you know. A democracy is “mob rule” —
My thought, you stole it! Just kiddin’. Mobocracy vs. Democracy, 2011.
I have yet to see the Wisconsin law cited that gives the governor or anybody else the authority to compel a member of the state senate to attend the senate. I’m not saying that it doesn’t exist only that I haven’t seen it in any of the numerous posts about it.
If there is no such law, then all of this stuff is political show
Best for Walker to do is wait it out. A press conference now and then to bring up the Missing Democrats....but sending out the cops when there is no authority to do so will backfire
bump.
I don’t know if the law exists or not. If it does, I’d like to see it cited and referenced. If it doesn’t exist, what would the troopers do if they found any of them? If the absent senators are breaking a law, then the cops could properly take them to jail, not the floor of the state senate - unless, the state law said otherwise.
Understood.
I just wish that the Repubs had seen this coming and had a few backup plans to cut them off at the pass, shall we say.
Not seeing the clown, and that it starts just after the doorbell is pressed, I just presumed this 'rat's home, instead of the standard westminster chimes, had installed the This is not what democracy looks like doorbell chimes.
I just wish that the Repubs had seen this coming and had a few backup plans to cut them off at the pass, shall we say.
Personally, I think that watching them run like rats, get fake “Doctor slips”, hide in their houses, afraid to come out and fight for their cause...or participate in a Representative Republic as they were hired to do...I’m good with ALL of that.
I’d like to see this continue for another week at least.
What we see here, of course, is the usurpation of democracy by DEMOCRATS, due to a vote that they will lose. Being in the minority, their only choice here is what they are doing...which is preventing a vote by illegal means.
So, now, what might they do in other circumstances, such as when they are in the majority and about to lose a key vote. Perhaps lock out the Republicans, maybe have them arrested, executed? Why not...once the rules means nothing, it’s the law of the jungle.
As long as the Demonrats look like fools, that is a plus.
I just wish our side had a strategy once in awhile.
But the longer this goes on, the longer I hope people start thinking about homeschooling their kids instead.
Talk about turn about being fair play!
“As long as the Demonrats look like fools, that is a plus.”
Fools? They look like the union thugs they are:
On Thursday, legislators were advised to return to their offices and lock their doors. Mobs roamed the halls, banging on the glass of the doors, pounding on the walls. No one could move in the halls or enter or leave the building. The glass of the Supreme Courts entrance was broken. Legislators were genuinely afraid. Our elected representatives were afraid. In our Capitol.
Has a leftist takeover ever gone any other way?
“Personally, I think that watching them run like rats, get fake Doctor slips, hide in their houses, afraid to come out and fight for their cause...or participate in a Representative Republic as they were hired to do...Im good with ALL of that.”
This was the part that makes sound like fools.
But, yeah, they are union thugs and I hope the Gov beats the political snot out of them!!
Can Walker run the clock out?
Isn’t time on our side?
The protesting teachers can stay away from their class just so long and I would think they would be in big trouble if they stay away too long.
Parents are bound to get crazy. Kids will surely have to make up days.
