Why is the US allowing this to happen? It was probably our idea. Obama probably wants to taunt Israel into a war so they can finally be eliminated.

If the US attacked or detained the Iranian ships it would be an act of war.
Of course Iran has been at war with the US since 1979, but why quibble?
