Allen West vs. Lawrence O'Donnell: No contest. Rising GOP star stands his ground when badgered.
American Thinker ^ | 02/28/2011 | Monte Kuligowski

Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” tried and tried and tried some more to get Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) to apologize and retract his statements that Obama should be willing to go to the location of the troops and put himself in harm’s way when visiting Afghanistan.

Lawrence may not have gotten the memo that West is a real American hero with conviction; and doesn’t easily back down to the leftwing press. Leftists posing as journalists also are not too happy about West’s comment that Obama is “probably the dumbest person walking around in America.”

Here is a link to the video clip of West on O’Donnell’s show.

West’s comments on Obama’s “dumbness” might actually be construed as a compliment. For the choices are: (1) Obama really is the smartest guy in the room but because of the mess G.W. Bush left him even his brilliance cannot reverse the country’s decline. (2) Obama is intentionally weakening the economy and America’s position in the world (perhaps naively believing socialism is good for the world?). (3) Obama is just another SEIU / ACORN type organizer who looks and sounds presidential but unfortunately is completely out of his league.

Given the choices, West may be giving Obama the benefit of the doubt. The “it’s Bush’s fault” narrative is getting a little old. And if Obama is not trying to bring about a neo-Marxist revolution, only one choice remains.

Someone posted a story a few weeks back about a night time encounter with a younger Barry soerto in the basement of a meeting place... He appeared to be smoking osmething smelly and engaging in sexual activity with another man.

When Barry popped his head out to see who had wandered by he had prominent front teeth (apparently Barry had them fixed) and the look was of pure evil.

I can picture it now every time I see his stupid mug blabbering about something in TV

He is a potential VP candidate. The VP is typically the chief attack dog for the presidential candidate and he would have credibility. He could be the Bo Snerdley; but we still must find the Rush Limbaugh.

VP? are you kidding. President material here. Esp. NOW!!! more and more impressed with him daily. I like how Palin fights the media but this guy engages with the enemy face to face. He appears on MSNBC more than anyone and a member of the Black Caucus. Awesome representative for us.

West is pure class and would make a great leader for our country but the media is afraid of him and won’t give him the time of day. I hope he continues his quest to make this a better country in any way he can.

As for placing himself in the line of fire, that’s a leaders job. At least he would gain the respect of our military.....which doesn’t exist today.

This man is as solid as a rock. I hope to see much, much more of him in a prominent leadership role.
Thanks for the post.

The media "was afraid" of Reagan too. Reagan didn't wait for them to give him the time of day. He took the time of day from them. They had no choice but to give him the "time of day." He was where the excitement was. He came off as the smartest, most interesting, most different, most hopeful candidate of the field, and the media needed to cover him for the sake of their ratings.

They began to throw more and more crap at him as the campaign heated up, and he handled every bit of it with a smile and a sense of humor. In short order, he had won the hearts of the voters, even if the MSM continued to hate his guts.

22 years in the service and he screws up once, which causes him to take a plea bargained retirement? That issue alone will hurt him via the rabid MSM. Unbecoming behavior for an officer by torturing his prisoner. Unworthy of the VP blah blah blah. You know how the MSM works. Too bad he didn’t get 3 phony purple hearts and sided with the enemy, then they’d love him.

RE: 22 years in the service and he screws up once, which causes him to take a plea bargained retirement?

Most patriots in this country ( especially those who know the hellish conditions in fighting a war against terrorists ) don’t consider what he did in Iraq a screw up.

He is ADMIRED for willing to go through hell with a gasoline can ( his words ) to protect his men.

The MSM will have a heyday with it. Look what they did with a pair of panties.

I do not think he screwed up. He demonstrated that he cared for the lives and welfare of his men. That is more than the run of the mill politican today does. And the run of the mill politician does not give one tinker’s damn about America, in my opinion, from what I have seen of said politician’s actions.

This is from Wikipedia

“While serving in Taji, Iraq, on August 20, 2003, West was in charge of the interrogation of Yahya Jhodri Hamoodi, a civilian Iraqi police officer suspected of having information about attacks on American troops in the area.[citation needed] Interrogators had been informed the detainee knew about a planned ambush. When the detainee refused to talk, LTC West was asked to assist. Hamoodi continued to withhold information, and West was accused of firing his pistol past the prisoner’s head, frightening him into talking. According to West’s sworn statement,[6] the detainee told West:

[The attack] was to occur Friday morning in Saba al Boor vicinity of the police station by positioned snipers supposedly being brought in from Fallujah. [The detainee] was to ID my vehicle and myself for these rooftop firers. We took this information and the following day established flask CPs and used AH-64s overhead. There was no attack and no further attacks have emanated from the town since the apprehension of [the detainee] and his named associates.

At least one suspect was arrested as a result of the information obtained through the detainee’s information. The suspect’s home was searched, but no plans for attacks or weapons were found. West testified he did not know if “any corroboration” of a plot was ever found. He added: “At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It’s possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi.”[13]

West, who had completed almost 22 years of active service, was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He was processed through an Article 32 hearing in November 2003, where he stated “I know the method I used was not right, but I wanted to take care of my soldiers” and was fined $5,000. LTC West accepted the judgment and retired with full benefits in the summer of 2004. Asked if he would have act differently if under similar circumstances again, West testified, “If it’s about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.”[14]

I can agree with that. I believe he did what he felt he needed to do, political correctness be damned. That tells me he is willing to fight hard for this country.

I love Lt Col West to death but he stays. There’s a bunch of gutless GOP congressman and he is a breath of fresh air. I would call Odumbo worse names than “dumbest in America” but the best he could do is Chief of Staff or SecDef. He truly loves American’s soldiers.

I still have the Soldier of Fortune magazine from years back with the article about Lt Col West’s story on the Saddam hunt. Even after he was treated unfairly, he did not hold any grudges against the Armed Forces.

Can you provide some background info? Thanks....................... Google his name, its all there. Its not my intent to knock West, I just want to point out where his problem will be if the MSM goes all out on him. I personally love the guy, and I agree with everything he did. However, The PC forces out there will not let it get by them. If someone with mega gonads in our Gov’t. would annul the charges and return the fine to West, his record would be clean and it would definitely weaken the MSM’s attack. It won’t happen, too many ball-less wonders there, and I’m sure the Black Caucus won’t back it.

I kept looking and found no evidence of a TelePrompter, amazing, we have an outstanding leader in West who speaks off the cuff logically, without stumbling, bumbling and gets salient points across to the braindead media moguls, who are not paying attention anyway but it sure is refreshing to my ears.

Go WEST!!

The only problem with your analysis is this:

There is no one (repeat: no one, quote: "no one", emphasis: no one) who the Republicans can run who will not be viciously villified, slandered and libeled by a bloodthirsty communist-leftist media.

This is assuming, of course, that the Republicans won't nominate John McCain again, the only Republican the media didn't have to vilify since McCain, in 2008, effectively ran on the Barack Obama election team.

But other than McCain, who obviously can't win, who can we nominate who won't be vilified by the media?
