Obama Offers States ‘Flexibility’ to Adopt Single-Payer instead of ObamaCare

Seeking to appease disgruntled governors, President Obama plans to announce on Monday that he supports amending the 2010 health care law to allow states to opt out of its most burdensome requirements three years earlier than currently permitted.

It's significant that the president is finally acknowledging that ObamaCare is unworkable and will impose enormous burdens on the states. Or is he?

A closer look shows that the president is not lifting the burdensome requirements ObamaCare imposes on states. All he's doing is proposing to move up, from 2017 to 2014, the date on which states can apply for federal permission to impose a different but equivalently or more coercive plan to expand health insurance coverage. Here's what the Times says about the legislation Obama will reportedly endorse, which was introduced by Sens. Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Scott Brown (R-MA):

The legislation would allow states to opt out earlier from various requirements if they could demonstrate that other methods would allow them to cover as many people, with insurance that is as comprehensive and affordable, as provided by the new law. The changes also must not increase the federal deficit.

"President Obama plans to announce on Monday that he supports amending the 2010 health care law"

Now, he's proposing to AMEND a Law that has been ruled Un-Constitutional?

What an ass.

Trying to do an end run around the lawsuits.

The KNOW Obamacare is unContitutional.

The idiots made the mistake of attacking Supreme Court Judges.
Any attempt at good will is gone.

The key to it’s proposal was that it had to MATCH the Fed LAW.
The unConstitutional Fed Law.

Govs need to tell him to take a hike. He’s done enough damage.

In other words, the socialist/marxist usurper who is illegally occupying the Oval Office will decide if the states and the people can partially exercise their 10th Amendment rights against Unconstitutional Obamacare. I have a better idea. The states reassert their 10th Amendment rights not to comply with all of Unconstitutional Obamacare via nullification!

"If you don't like being in the frying pan, we'll allow you to jump into the fire."

I think the intention behind ObamaCare is to drive people into a single-payer system eventually...now we may be given the option of taking a fast track to the same destination.

Some flexibility. Some choice.

His Deathcare has been ruled unconstitutional, so he is “allowing” the governors to adopt single payer which was soundly rejected in lieu of deathcare.

Audacity?

Hubris.

What an ass.

Obama is a TRAITOR. The Healthcare mess is part of the plan to bring economic havoc to the United States, which is well on it's way to bankruptcy without this mess. Obamacare will finish the job.

You must ask is Obama and his handlers the biggest idiots in history OR is he purposely trying to hurt the US?

Of course the answer is obvious, Obama is NOT stupid enough to do the things he's doing without having destructive intentions.

This is what Mitt Romney wanted, and Scott Brown wants, to have the feds force the states to adopt ObamaCare, and let the individual mandate be forced at the state level.

A more granular, distributed Fascism.

The[y] KNOW Obamacare is unContitutional.

You type this from the point of view, the worldview, that the written Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land (like it says it is).

They don’t look at the world this way. The Constitution, to them, is simply an impediment to implementing their superior vision. It can be used to thwart “the other side” when necessary, because “the other side” actually thinks that rules should apply to everyone. But it is simply something to get around when it hinders the socialist vision.

zer0 will make the offer in 2012 to appease Governors and deflect the TP. Then if re-elected, all bets are off and the offer will be essentially rescinded. Then zer0 will go in for the crack-down.
We can never trust this lying sack of **** ever.

Let me extend that comment- that’s what Brown said he’d do in his first speech after the election- go to Washington and show them how to do health care right, like in Massachusetts.

And here he is, doing that, and bailing out The Won too.
