Huffington's Plunder (Liberal journalist explains why people HATE liberals)
truthdig.com ^ | February 24, 2011 | Christ Hedges

Posted on 03/01/2011 7:08:24 AM PST by PanzerKardinal

Any business owner who uses largely unpaid labor, with a handful of underpaid, nonunion employees, to build a company that is sold for a few hundred million dollars, no matter how he or she is introduced to you on the television screen, is not a liberal or a progressive. Those who take advantage of workers, whatever their outward ideological veneer, to make profits of that magnitude are charter members of the exploitative class. Dust off your Karl Marx. They are the enemies of working men and women. And they are also, in this case, sucking the lifeblood out of a trade I care deeply about. It was bad enough that Huffington used her site for flagrant self-promotion, although the cult of the self has reached such dizzying proportions in American society that such behavior is almost expected. But there is an even sadder irony that this was carried out in the name of journalism.

[...]

This latest form of “liberal” exploitation exposes yet again the liberal class for who they really are—opportunists whose operating methods are as callous as those used in running the textile mills in southern China. Is it any wonder that working men and women, who have been abandoned and betrayed by these self-identified liberals, hate the liberal class and its transparent hypocrisy? Is it any wonder that the some 40 million Americans who live in poverty are invisible to the wider culture? Is it any wonder that the tea party and all the lunatics on the fringe of our political spectrum put their cross hairs on the liberal class and its purported values? Let’s not forget the title of Huffington’s latest book: “Third World America: How Our Politicians Are Abandoning the Middle Class and Betraying the American Dream.”

Liberals like these deserve the rage they engender.

Any full explanation of why liberals are hated, loathed, spit upon, and f*rted in the general direction of - - -

would require a 1 terrabyte disk to store it.

Liberals are slime, pond scum, smegma, toe cheese, and armpit lint...and that’s just for the start.

And I’m just getting started.

Really . . . they’re just now figuring this out?

Gullible liberals have been “exploited” by their leaders for years, but they don’t seem to catch on in large numbers.

whorington isn’t an “icon”. she’s nobody. It’s great when she goes on TV. The more Americans see that leftism/libism is a foreign, unAmerican thing, the happier I am.

This article is leftist bulldrivel. “They are the enemies of working men and women” - lol.

Marx created a system of control. He was NOT a “friend of working men”. He fully intentionally created a system to wrest control from one group of dictators and give it to a group of more malevolent dictators. He was an evil man who let his children starve. He codified that evil in a book as his gift of hate to mankind.

When he says that people will work harder if they are working for others, I don’t know how anyone can read it and not crack up laughing. It’s like you are reading a book by a con artist titled “My scam, and how to pull it off”.

Just a lesson on the truth of socialism that will be lost on the useful idiots who made Huffington very rich.

What’s wrong with this guy?

What part of “from each according to his ability” doesn’t he understand?

Huffpo took “from each” writer/contributor “according to his ability”.

They should have been proud to be a part of it.

I have said for years that Hollywood and other rich ‘Libs’ hide behind their ‘Lib” title. They use their Libness to prevent attacks while they carry out their evil ways.

Does not compute - liberalism IS evil...
so how can they hide behind being a liberal to do evil?

Big deal. Arianna owned a website and then sold it to make some cash. People on this forum wouldn’t do anything different. By the way, Hedges is the ultimate anti-American, leftist scribbler who’s indignant that he didn’t make off with any swag on the deal. Just one leftist pig calling another one dirty.

Liberalism is like herpes. It never really goes away.

Considering the impostor they elected to the People's House, I find this statement more than a little bit ironic.

Actually aren't they called capitalists? Are these bloggers being forced to write for H? I don't think so. They do it for whatever reason they have quite willingly. They are all libs and they do what libs do: try to teach us why Marxism is such a wonderful thing. They get what they've earned - nothing.

I'm no Arianna Huffington fan but she has no need to apologize to anyone for taking AOL to the cleaners. $315 million? Give me a break. AOL will be lucky to get 10 cents on the dollar when they try to dump it a few years down the road.

Dontcha just love it when a true blue believer in the leftist/progressive cause all of the sudden comes to realize that he was a useful idiot? As crazy as it may sound, this writer may be on the road to truth and true classical liberalism as laid out in modern day conservatism.

I don't know. Conservatives have been getting the middle finger from supposedly conservative "icons" for some time now. I hope conservatism is not over.

She also did the "to each" part pretty well, with regard to herself anyway.

No sympathy here.

These Huff-Po Progressives allowed themselves to be exploited by a brazen serial opportunist who used their misguided sense of socialist solidarity to rip them off, plunder their work and promote her own glory. Next time, try getting a real job, paying taxes and raising a family instead of playing Boris Bolshevik at age 30 in your parents' basements.
