I am so glad they're adding new charges.

If they seek the death penalty. I don’t trust the Holder Justice Department.

Could face the death penalty? Huh? There were, what, a couple of hundred witnesses that saw him do it?

“Jared Loughner is indicted on 46 new charges in Tucson shooting - and could face death penalty”

The guy did it; a zillion witnesses, etc. We need Judge Parker (True Grit); he would straighten him out.

He should be put to death. Unlike liberals who would be cheering the death of any conservative poltician, I actually believe in the law and this maniac murdered and injured many. Kill him twice.

Suspected leftist Tucson gunman Jared Loughner has been indicted on 46 new charges, including the murders of a federal judge and an aide to congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who received death threats on leftist website DailyKos days before the shooting.

This person should have already been tried, convicted and executed. Some crimes are so obvious that it’s a travesty of justice to let the killer live more than 30 days. What possible reason could there be for this person not to receive the death penalty and to have it carried out ASAP?

I am a firm believer in the death penalty. Not necessarily for its deterrent value but for its penalty value. If the certainly of capture, trial and application of the death part is enhanced in some cases by the addition of deterrence then IMHO it’s just serendipity.

New charges is good.

Obvious stupidity on the part of the prosecuting attorneys on this level and in such a public case is disheartening.
This is a case where insanity isn't just a defense ploy, but is an obvious factor that should have framed how the case was presented.

Going for the death penalty in this case makes the state prosecutors look like an ill convened aggregation of random bumblers (even if that is the case there is no need to make it obvious).

This case should have been handled quietly out of the public eye, and Loughner should be put in mental care someplace where he can be compassionately but irresistibly sequestered under mental care.

Just more charges to drag this out for a couple of dozen years. Giving Taxpayer funded defense attorneys more grounds for appeals.

Get on with the trial and stick the needle in his arm.

NOOOOOOOOOO, need to make as much political hay out of this as possible. Watch.

"...could face death penalty"

That's sad.

It should read "...will face death penalty."

This is both good and desirable. What is frustrating is the absurd amount of time all this is taking. This scum will be able to enjoy the spectacle he has crafted for years yet to come then likely end up a celebrity like Manson.
