AWOL Democrats Say They're Coming Home Soon [WISCONSIN]
Fox News ^ | 3/7/2011

Playing a game of political chicken, Democratic senators who fled Wisconsin to stymie restrictions on public-employee unions said Sunday they planned to come back from exile soon, betting that even though their return will allow the bill to pass, the curbs are so unpopular they'll taint the state's Republican governor and legislators.

The Republicans rejected the idea that the legislation would hurt the GOP. "If you think this is a bad bill for Republicans, why didn't you stand up in the chamber and debate us about it three weeks ago?" said Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald. "People think it's absolutely ridiculous that these 14 senators have not been in Wisconsin for three weeks."

“Unpopular Bill”? They’ve been too busy reading their own press releases.

Have most of their union buddies completed rushing through new contracts with local school boards to neutralize Governor Walker’s efforts to make them pay more for their benefits packages?

“soon” could mean today, or 2 thousand years from now.

“’Unpopular Bill’? They’ve been too busy reading their own press releases.”

It’s the Pauline Kael syndrome (A NYC liberal, she is supposed to have said after Nixon’s 1972 election “I can’t understand how he won. Everyone I know voted against him.”) Everyone the flee-baggers know is against the bill so they assume that is everybody.

It ain’t over til it’s over...last night I posted a piece in which half the Dems were denying there was any plan to return and that they were winning the battle of Public Opinion.

Go figure....

One thing’s for sure: this is pure gold for the Republicans in the next election. Can’t you just see the ads...”...unlike my opponent, I promise I will DO MY JOB if I’m elected and NOT flee the state when I can’t get my way...I will work for ALL citizens...not pull stunts that make our state a laughingstock...”

etc, ad infinitum. You can’t make this stuff up.

I seriously doubt this.

The left believes they are winning this fight, and winning it big. There is no reason for them to return at this point.

I saw this same thing in a WSJ article last night and since that time the fleebagger Democrat leaders have said the article is bunk and they are not returning anytime soon.

The leftists are pushing for them to remain in Illinois till later this summer - presumably after recall elections force several GOP Senators out. The unions have been buoyed by the polls and are convinced they are routing the GOP/Walker on this.

"These kids should be grounded - and no dessert for a month...."

As soon as they return and a quorum is established the FIRST vote should be a voice vote on legislation that basically says:

1)"Any legislator who deliberately absents himself/herself from the duties of their office for more one week for political purposes shall lose his office, and the governor shall immediately appoint a replacement".

2)"The above shall not apply to cases of illness or bereavement. Other exceptions may be obtained by a majority vote of chamber members."

By the way, I wouldn’t pull the thread, it’s what the media is reporting. It’s just that their sources, the Fleebag Democrats, haven’t got a clue and can’t agree amongst themselves what the plan is. Thus different stories every time they open their pieholes...

Again I think this works to our advantage, anyone with an objective brain can see they are coming unraveled, nothing says “solidarity” like giving one story to the WSJ and another to the next reporter who calls to verify.

Jonny Erpenbacher must have got an advance on his allowance, he was the one who said his mommmy and daddy were picking up the tab for his Escape to Illinois.

the Wis 14 Democrats will come back to Wisconsin when Hell freezes over, is that soon enough!

At least one will be home soon, she is in her last trimester 8 th month so she has to come back to to see her Ob/Gyn Doctor. Lets say she stays a little longer her insurance will not cover delivery out of state and without her doctor. Pretty soon she will have to come back.

what about her other child, where is her idiot husband in the picture. Or is she one of the idiots from Madison whom has a partner and she went through artificial insemination and her and her partner are raising children while they are lesbians. Goss. Whom is this bietch and why is she not home with her child and doing what she was elected to do - represnt her constituents even if she does not like the process she is entrusted by her constituents to represent them. Oh, I forget this is just for theater to garner support. More BS orchestrated by Odumbo the true leader of the Democratic Socialist Party formerly know as the Democratic National Convention

The majority of Wisconsonites are disgusted to unprecedented levels with the unions and their childish antics, and do not want the lunatics taking over the asylum. An increase in fervor among hard core union supporters is not going to help them any, it will only make their fall harder.
