CNN's 'Expert on Extremism': 'Radical Right' Bigger Threat Than Jihadis
By: Matthew Balan
Monday, March 07, 2011 6:17 PM EST

Mark Potok of the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center claimed on Monday's Newsroom on CNN that radical Islam wasn't "our biggest domestic terror threat," that instead, "that pretty clearly comes from the radical right in this country." Anchor Suzanne Malveaux touted Potok as "expert on extremism" from "one of the most highly regarded non-governmental operations that are monitoring hate groups."

Malveaux brought on the SPLC spokesman at the bottom of the 12 noon Eastern hour to discuss the upcoming hearings by the House Homeland Security Committee on the radicalization of American Muslims. The anchor first asked him, "From your study of tracking radical groups, potentially hate groups, what do you think of this hearing? Is al Qaeda radicalizing Muslims? Is that our biggest homegrown terrorism threat right now?"

Potok replied with his "radical right" claim, and went on to criticize the chairman of the House committee, Rep. Peter King:

POTOK: Well, I think it's not our biggest domestic terror threat. I think that pretty clearly comes from the radical right in this country, although I would certainly not minimize the threat of jihadist terrorism in this country. Obviously, we have seen a fair amount of it. But what is completely false is, first of all, the idea that Peter King has repeatedly said, that most Muslims are good Americans and so on. You know, in fact what he has said is that 85 percent or 90 percent of the imams running mosques in this country are radical. They're jihadists, and everything suggests that what he says is false.

The so called Radical Right does not even exist as it is just a convenient shibboleth that the SPLC & ADL use to cynically use to draw funds into the coffers. The fact of the matter is that they MORE afraid that the Radical Right does not exist than the notion that it does. The bogeyman of the so called Radical Right [ & the paranoid fear it instills ] is the biggest campaign driver for those bigoted agenda groups. Furthermore the also like to use the specter of a Radical Right threat as fodder to clamp down on free speech & to abrogate the Constitution.

I’d like to see this so-called expert stand up to a reasonably well educated high school student on his allegations of “right wing” terror.

Alternatively, I’d like to hear the argument that might be made by “a real flaming idiot” who thinks they know about “right wing terrorists” and compare them with those advanced by this moron.

Where is Dees... or whomever he is called....?

I was a member in the seventies. He used to send me pictures of lynchings from the thirties and represent them as if they happened yesterday. I sent them hundreds in donations, until I matched up some of his photographs of lynchings with AI documents in their torture documentation.

Selective reading to be sure, but necessary to understand reality and manipulation thereof.

Martin or Marvin did some good work killing the Klan, but I came to believe he was just another kennedy type sniveling prick sucking profit through tragedy.

Southern Poverty Law Center
World Wild Life Fund
Amnesty International
Greenpeace
UNICEF
UNHCR

The only groups I still support are the People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) lunatics , and the Gun Owners Action League (GOAL) retards.

These things are obviously irreconcilable, that is what keeps one sane.

Another POS from a collective with an agenda given amplification by a POS collective with an agenda.

The greatest anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collective in the history of civilization is what POS Potok?

Great and interesting thread. Thanks to every poster.

Potok is a pro-jihad communist. He’ll say stuff like that. He’ll also support far left organizations like ARA who’s basically terrorist outlets.

Through the years the SPLC has seen plenty of lost legal action. They really should have a cavity search by the FBI.

The ‘Radical Right’ is or will become the modern day version
of the Kulak. Again a term that could apply to anyone that
opposes whatever agenda is being pushed.

All of us on that list that Napolitano came out with are first tier candidates. But there will be room for more.

Right now it’s just name calling.

Stalin had his war against the Kulaks. Pol Pot had his against the Vietnamese and the educated.

Obama wants to raise that number SIGNIFICANTLY. It's a big part of the plan to destroy America.

Hey CNN...I have an idea. Let’s rehash and dig into obama’s ties with some real life terrorists. You know, his friend and Chicago neighbor, Bill ayers of the weather underground. Remember? The story you all swept under the rug? Since we didn’t cover it in 08, maybe we will make it front and center in 2012. We can show old footage and everything. Go ahead CNN - go there.

CNN as a news source - what a joke CNN has become.

I remember Rush Limbaugh calling the MSM an Apparatchik of the Obama Administration sometime in 2009 or 2010.

apparatchik
origin Russia 1941
1. a member of a communist apparat (this is defined as ‘an organization or existing power structure, especially a political one)
2. a blindly devoted official, follower or memeber of an organization (as a corporation or political party)

CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Al-Jezzera (USA) are the Obama Administration Apparatchik. As the USA moves towards the 2012 election cycle the MSM will come out in supporting Obama and criticism of conservatives will be nutty attacks that make no sense.

Last time I checked, it wasn’t the ‘radical right’ who was phoning in bomb threats at the Wisconsin Govenor’s speaking venues.
