As if the military did not have enough to worry about with two wars, troops around the globe and members of Congress calling for the imposition of a no-fly zone over Libya (a de facto act of war), the Military Leadership Diversity Commission (MLDC) Monday released a report informing those in uniform that there are too many white men in their uppermost ranks.
Ordered by Congress in the 2009 National Defense Authorization Act, the report seeks to increase diversity.
“The commission’s recommendations support two overriding and related objectives: (1) that the Armed Forces systematically develop a demographically diverse leadership … and (2) that the services pursue a broader approach to diversity that includes the range of backgrounds, skill sets and personal attributes that are necessary to enhancing military performance,” the report reads.
According to the document, 77 percent of active duty senior officers are white, 8 percent are black, 5 percent are Hispanic and 16 percent are women — something that needs to change, according to the MLDC.
“Leveraging diversity as a vital strategic military resource will require the commitment, vision, and know-how of leaders at every level,” the report continues. “Without this commitment to instill respect for diversity as a core value, the needed cultural change may not take place.”
To that end the commission has provided 20 recommendations to cure the military of its white male scourge — including increasing the eligibility pool, making diversity a “priority,” allow women in combat, instituting more outreach efforts, implementing “diversity strategic plans” and requiring official explanations when a minority or woman is not nominated to 3- and 4-star positions.

Sorry, not enough minorities can even pass the ASVAB to break into even the enlisted ranks. Or, they are too busy selling drugs, tacos, or enrolling in community colleges to join.
Hubby was a recruiter who saw this for too many years. Also, many of our high school principals in these areas refuse to allow military recruiters in to sign them up.
The question that should be asked ...exactly how many women/minority types even WANT to serve, or believe in taking the oath required to serve? How many would provide the ultimate sacrifice if called upon? Do we really believe enough of these people even care about this country to that extent OR have the mental AND physical ability to serve?
A good many of them mock the patriotic principles that it takes ... many of them believe it is either beneath them, or that it’s just not “their cup of tea.”
They don’t pay any attention to the convention when they take male prisoners either

Do these morons understand that the military is a merit based system? If your good enough, you move up. If your not, you don’t!
Maybe it’s just me, but I never once looked around at my leadership and thought, Damn, there too many white dudes in charge. We need a few more black, hispanic and asian guys at the top. All I cared about was if the man at the top could lead, and that he could take care of his Marines.
An affirmative action program in the military will destroy it. Period!!

The very existence of such a group is an indication of it's purpose.
In war there are two kinds of people. The living and the dead. By "leveraging diversity" they can only mean more DEAD.
Nowhere in that “report” does it identify why this rush to diversity would actually make our Armed Forces more effective.
Do we want our military sons and daughters led by the best leaders available... or those selected by a diversity board to fill quotas?
I am truly amazed at how this country is dead set on committing national suicide on all fronts.

Dirversity as a requirement is a LIE. It is a lie in the past now and in the future. There is no increased strength or capability brought about by diversity...only out of ABILITY. If those who CHOOSE to enter the military meet standards and excell they WILL be rewarded.
These liars conveniently sidestep all history in the US on how the Military has ALWAYS led in diversity and how it was the MILITARY in so many places that brough about changes socially proving that inate characteristics like being black or asian or anything else mattered not but that like MLK said the content of their character did.
Now the real danger is how the gays have successfully overturned DADT and will push until their lie of inateness is simply accepted without proof so that soon enough religious freedom to adhere to the christian principles that homosexuality is a sin will be forcibly restricted. We are a free nation no more when things liek this happen.
