Bachmann 'exposes' $105B 'fraud' in health care law

COMMENTARY | Michele Bachmann, to the point of exasperating NBC's David Gregory on "Meet The Press," pointedly reiterated that the Obama administration had, along with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, deceptively hidden away more than $105 billion in health care appropriations in the budget. It is also a claim she made in a video posted on Thursday on her own website.

"Practically no member of Congress even knew that $105 billion of funding was contained," Bachmann said in the video, then repeated on "Meet The Press."

Taking a page out of Sarah Palin's interview strategy book by hedging and misdirecting, then speaking about whatever topic she wanted (which was for the most part the $105 billion in health care reform appropriations), Bachmann avoided many of the questions put to her on "Meet The Press." But there was one topic she was clear on: Obamacare.

She accused the Obama administration and Democratic leaders of deception and "legislative fraud," and that such acts should be met with defunding or repealing of Obamacare. Bachmann noted Republicans (and implied that other congressmen were equally unknowing) just recently found out about the "deception."

The big question you have to ask, and should expect an answer is...

“Where and who did the money go to???”

Who would you ask???

And most important, how would you know if you are being told the truth???

It never stops.

These Republicans couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Just zero out the ledger for DHHS and reappropriated the money already appropriated for Obamacare to fund the agency.

Don’t fund DHHS through omission from the budget then introduce a separate reappropriated bill later after the budget is adopted.

This is what we expect them to do, roll with the punches.

No and No, Yes.

Palin and Bachmann know that they are in an adversarial relationship with the MSM. Palin is large enough that they muct cover her, Bachmann is getting there. The MSM desparately want to control and limit the story; inthis case Bachmann used them to get out a serious piece of information that is willfully and aggressively ignored.

What is supposed to happen is the bill gets passed into law, THEN, the approprations kick in and they decide how to fund it, and at what rate...

This is a bill that had the funding IN the bill to begin with...The money was already approriated with no committee oversight...

I guess now we know why they needed to pass the bill to see what was in it...

The pieces are starting to come together...

Bachmann is also being disingenuous in her outrage. She would have listeners and potential voters believe that the "deception" pulled off by Pelosi, Reid, and Obama completely hoodwinked the Republicans

Isn't that interesting... this coming from the leftards who insisted that the otherwise stupid and imbecilic George W. Bush somehow fooled the world when lying about WMD in Iraq. Yet, somehow, a collaborative deception by Pelosi, Reid and 0bama on monies slotted for 0bamaCare is just incomprehensible.

This will be the defining moment of Michelle Bachmanns career.

First off it depends on how well this changes things, or if it gets squelched in the typical MSM fashion, in essence being sent to the “Black Hole” of history.

Now that she has let the cat out of the bag she must chase it down. This could be her rendezvous with destiny. I hope it goes far and deep, I hope even more that its found to cause some decent events to occur in the Whitehouse.

Like who knew about it and signed it off.

In a sane world Gregory would have been shocked and asked followup questions on how $105 Billion could have been hidden and why. Instead he wanted to ask about other things?

Her appearances must be hitting a real nerve. At the bottom of this piece it says the author is a “Yahoo Contributor”. Which means, Obama/DNC/Leftist Operative.

The part the fries me, unlimited money that DHHS can pull from the Fed for implementing the health exchanges in the States. Absolutely gangster ... The Senator got that part right.

Why would we get in a lather about anything this teacher/carpenter writes?
Anything on Yahoo is about the quality on a par with DU or HuffPo.

If I heard this correctly, the Congress voted in a “self-funding” mechanism that funds this legislation despite the coming and going of many congresses over the course of many years.

How can that be possible given that each Congress is responsible for its own decisions?

That seems like complicit chicanery to me for anyone to suggest that THEY GOT AWAY WITH IT.

Funny how they don’t say these things about Democrats who filibuster during an interview. 0bama is the best at this.

This $105 billion in health care financing wasn’t included in the CBO’s estimate on the cost of 0bamacare.

It is a hidden tax/expense/expenditure.

[Bachmann is also being disingenuous in her outrage. She would have listeners and potential voters believe that the “deception” pulled off by Pelosi, Reid, and Obama completely hoodwinked the Republicans]

From the author’s tone, you’d think that there were Republicans who did not vote against the bill.

Btw, this article is just seething with more than bias. You can just feel the contempt for conservative women and anything Republican oozing from the author’s every pore.

Yep, that is outrageous, and perhaps unconstitutional!

(Bachmann is a Congresswoman not Senator)
