Saw my first night launch a few months back. Perfect view at Port Canaveral about 10 miles away.

I should also hear the booms here shortly.

Strange how such a beautiful landing can be so sad.

Welcome home Discovery.

Safe landing! I’m wondering why they are retiring the shuttles?

On Fox they just said that the spot on the runway where she stopped will get a permanent marker. Kinda’ cool, that.
