McCaskill to reimburse government $88,000 for flights chartered from firm she co-owns

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said Wednesday that she would reimburse the government $88,000 for flights chartered from a company she jointly owns with her husband.

McCaskill's office said she had not profited from the flights and that she was returning the money out of concern for how the arrangement might appear.

"Sen. McCaskill has been very careful flying on taxpayer dollars," said Maria Speiser, a spokeswoman for McCaskill. "She has only paid for the use of her plane as required by the Senate rules, and there has been no profit to her or her family. She's glad there's transparency - that's why people can see this information."

The use of the plane and her decision to return the money was first reported by Politico, which found that McCaskill had spent $76,000 on the flights in the past four years.

McCaskill and her husband have a net worth of at least $15 million, according to an estimate from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. A disclosure form detailing her personal finances lists her ownership of Sunset Cove Associates LLC as a joint asset with her husband, Joe Shepard, who built a fortune in real estate.

Yeah, it has absolutely nothing to do with her re-election campaign. She must think voters are really dumb.

A LIE, of course.

The kind of lie that also says..."I think that Missouri voters are pretty stupid, ."

Isn't that nice. McCaskill is going to reimburse the government for her ripoff. Has nothing what-so-over to do with her 2012 campaign. (smells like desperation to me)

Claireeeee, doesn't matter to us Missourians...you are toast in 2012 darlin’. Why I do believe a pile of horse manure could run against you and win. You are out of there!

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said Wednesday that she would reimburse the government $88,000 for flights chartered from a company she jointly owns with her husband.

This demonstrates she is too stupid for the job she holds. If you own a charter company YOU DO NOT hire that company to fly you around using tax payer dollars. Fly commercial, or if you truly need a charter use any except your own company! What she did is unethical, stupid and probably should be illegal if it isn't already!

She didn't profit? BULL. Either she "took" special favors from a company by flying "at cost" or she literally profited through her ownership because the company made money on the flights.

Did she violate any senate ethics rules? Has anyone filed a complaint?

The untold story is that she and her husband have received OVER $3 million in Stimulus funding for their section 8 housing projects. I have the information and am holding onto it until a viable Republican comes to the forefront. Tried to get the local fishwraps interested in the story, but they are all Claire supporters.

Can't wait to release all the recovery.gov files and screen captures...she will go down HARD.

“She must think voters are really dumb.”

####

She is right.

They are.

Exhibit A: Missouri voters elected her to high federal office over the consummately superior Jim Talent.

Good, she deserves it. She uttered what is probably the most disgusting and dishonorable thing I've ever heard a modern American politician say, when she declared:

"George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black."

Think about the statement. She was effectively calling him a murderer via a duty-bound failure to act because of the color of people's skin or how much money they have. It is utterly outrageous and beyond contempt. I would have stopped everything until that woman apologized had I been the president, then I would have sued her, and done everything in my power to ensure her defeat and public shame. What a cynnical, dishonorable, disgusting woman.
