Obama Blames Oil Companies For Lack Of Drilling
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 3/11/2011 | Sean Higgins

In his Friday press conference to discuss gas prices, President Obama was rather defensive, straining to counter the notion that his administration has been unfriendly to oil drilling, something most people would like to see a lot more of these days.

Where do people get that notion? Perhaps his Interior Department appealing a judge’s ruling that it act on several pending deepwater permits had something to with it.

Obama claimed repeatedly that he is not against drilling, then made the following comments:

When was the last time a refinery of any significance was constructed in the US?

Stalin did this very same thing. It’s always the fault of the producers. The businessmen and productive people were called ‘Wreckers’ in Stalin’s day.

He’s against drilling for oil but he is for drilling us in the ass. That’s the only drilling he favors.

I listened to the part about oil and it scared me. I know what Obama is but will people buy what he is saying? Is our country made up of 49 percent of people that just don't care? They are so blind that they don't understand that in no time flat they won't be able to get food?
What would happen to this country, no one would help us.
Read Daniel and Revelations.
This is a very serious time.

For years the Democrats and their friends in the Watermelon community (green on the outside red in the middle) like the Sierra Club have fought efforts by oil companies to drill in the United States. The result has been a terrific shortage of drilling rigs which cannot be made up overnight. The Bakken area of North Dakota, and the Eagle Ford in Texas are two sites where companies hold thousands of drilling leases but simply do not have the rigs to drill where they want. In the case of the Marcellus shale region in Pennsylvania, the companies have been blocked by the enivronmentalists, and thousands of leases are idle. Even if the Marcellus were to open tomorrow, the companies will not have the rigs to operate as they want. Most will be working elsewhere. As for offshore rigs in the Gulf, the Obama administration has been so daunting that rigs, including one of the world’s largest offshore, have picked up and moved elsewhere. And it is not a good bet that they will return any time soon.

The overview in the article is correct; the companies have a good general idea of where they want to drill, but they will never know the sweet spots until exploratory drilling gives them the appraisal they need.

For the fatuous President of the USA to blame the oil companies for our present fix is the quintessence of immaturity. But, what the Hell, that’s what we get for electing a leftist ideologue to the office.

For the first time ever, I kinda felt ‘sorry’ for Obama today.

He just looked frail, weak, and confused. And his speech was just cliche babble talk, and his answers to the questions were indecipherable. Most of the time I had no idea what he was even talking about.

Just talking to 'be' talking. And those last two questions, he looked like he was losing his mind. Stuttering, and fumbling with no clear ‘point’ to what he was saying.

I'm no big Obama fan but what I saw today was worse. I really think there is something medically wrong with him. He was just out of it. IMO

He needs to put some of that 'Obamacare' on himself and get himself checked out.

Those darn oilmen refuse to drill where the oil isn’t.

So does Reggie Love, he drills where oil isn't.

To us, yes, he does seem like a "wretched low-down liar". But, I am beginning to think that he is so detached from how the real world works, and has never had a job that would teach him anything about how the real world works; that he honestly does not connect his regulations and tons of mandatory paperwork and attitude, with the oil companies not drilling.

He could be a space case....He looked awful today (press conference) with lot of black coloring around his eyes
There is an ongoing debate whether he is purposely trying to hurt the United States

"I promise you we will not drill for our own oil. I will lie to my people and tell them we will drill but I'll issue no permits. I will also lie and tell them I am a Christian. Can I stay at you palace for next years Haj?"

Like hell he is.

He has been able to fool enough of the people enough of the time to commit a coup d'etat.

We still don't know what is in all the bills he has passed but we do know he hid more spending in the ObamaCare bill than the pubbies can ever hope to recoup in budget cuts and the money solidifies his grip on the government and the people.

No, he is not stupid. We will have to fight our own troops to get him out of there.

Wisconsin is just a warning.

Sorry, Jim. I'm not yelling at you, I'm just furious at "Our Great Satan."

They are serene in the knowledge that anyone who mouths allegiance to the government will be provided for. They already know exactly what they need to do to receive a stipend, food, heat, electricity and higher education from the PTB. Some are already receiving everything they need.

So, yes: they neither care nor perceive. Biblical revelation and conservative elders are simply conservative rhetoric, much like the voice of adults in a Charlie Brown cartoon.

Quite a while, since the capacity has been increasing since 1996 and their % utilization has been falling since 1998, and refineries are closing not opening.

Why do you ask?

Stuttering, and fumbling with no clear ‘point’ to what he was saying.

Don't worry, the only sound bites the defend-the-dems national media will play will come from zer0's answer to the Japanese man's question asking zer0 how he FELT about the earthquake. Was this a plant?

The Democrats are building up another round of Big Oil scapegoating for 2012. Also pay attention to what they’re saying on the local level.

No debate in my mind. I decided about 2 months into his term that he didn't like the United States; and he wasn't too fond of the American people, either. He has done nothing since then to change my mind.
