The next 6 months will be riddled with promoting "wind power" and other worthless ventures by those born at Yasgur’s Farm back in the ‘60’s because of this news.

You might want to find some Iodide tablets. There are 5 Nuclear Reactors at 2 Japanese Nuclear Plants currently operating in Emergency Procedures.

Japan quake causes emergencies at 5 nuke reactors

Nuke Plants normally have a 3x safety factor with quadruple redundancies.

Precautions are absolutely sane to take, but I think everyone is getting a feeling that these are close calls.

Bad press for the nuke industry but if they didn’t do it, they would be castigated. I am sure they have it well in hand.

Unfortunatly msnbc was on here in the ColdOnes household. Chris Mathews just said to look for anti nuke people in this country to use this for not building nuke power here. I wonder how bad it is really? I sure hope not.

Okay, ya'll are getting just a wee bit hysterical. Pressure in the primary (Rx vessel) is normal, it's in the CONTAINMENT where apparently some of the piping has released steam is where the pressure is increasing. Well, on BWR's the Rx/turbine buildings are behind airlocks at a negative pressure. To ensure integrity, they may have to vent off some of the pressure.

The reactor isn't melting, we're not gonna die, it's not going to create this:

Yours truly,
Your friendly neighborhood nuclear power plant operator and former Navy Nuke.

Again, there is no need to panic over this. We are not witnessing a Japanese remake of “The China Syndrome”. The Japanese plants are built with solid containment structures that are designed to do just that, contain.

Hey, people, it’s AP - All Propaganda.

I swear, so-called conservatives are as dumb as the dumbass left-wingers.

Can we at least wait for some semblance of scientific assessment. And no, AP doesn’t count.
