I hope all those dead dolphins from a few months back arent an omen of things to come.
Thanks. The argument is still valid if the article is dated Mar 4, 2011 or Mar 4, 2010. It was still posted after the fact.
I thought dogs and cats also become skittish before earthquakes.
Should be brilliant silver, not blue.
Makes no difference to me. It just rang a bell in my memory. Don’t know exactly when I saw it.
I knew this was a fishy story......
That’s not an Oarfish.
Don’t know what it is but it looks nothing like an Oarfish.
I agree. This is not an oarfish. An Oarfish is hugh, the size of a grown Anaconda or Boa Constrictor.
PS: I think this is a picture of Helen Thomas as a young girl. The eyes are similar.
A closer look and you will see it was March 4, 2010.
I recently watched a Wild Kingdom show called “Under the Octopus Volcano” about the octopuses that live around Stromboli, Italy sensing impending eruptions and heading for cover in advance.

I wonder if infrasound plays a big part in our pets detecting incoming quakes. Must be pretty noisy with rumbles that our ears can’t hear when the earth is gearing up for one.
More pics of an oarfish.

It’s pretty.
ping - most interesting.
Think of the pizzas that could decorate.
wow, talk about timing....
Now, back to news about the fishes massing and dying off coast of Mexico and California
Juvinile fish often look quite different from adults.
Magnitude 6.5 - NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN
This earthquake occured on March 14, 2010. The news article was dated March 4, 2010 - as previously discussed.
All of the earthquakes (pre-shocks, aftershocks, and the 9.0) are shown as HONSHU, JAPAN, the same as this 2010 earthquake.
This magnitude of earthquake is similar to the World Series earthquake in San Francisco in October 1989. The teams were both Bay Area teams (Oakland and San Francisco), so there was serious discussion at that time that the World Series might have to be moved elsewhere.
Damage was that extensive.
