Iranian Press TV reports that a conference is to be held in Tehran today, March 14, to mark the anniversary of the 2003 death of American activist Rachel Corrie.

The conference is titled "Which rights, which human, which American?"

The report quotes Mehdi Foroutan, the director of the Enqelab Eslami (Islamic Revolution) Cultural Center, as saying that the conference will include representatives from 30 NGOs who are gathering "to condemn the inhumane killing of the American peace activist at the hands of the Israeli regime."

I am firmly convinced that had Ms. Corrie been taken to an Israeli as opposed to Palestinian hospital, she would be alive today.

She was not run over by a bulldozer, she fell from an unstable perch, that may have been disturbed by the bulldozer (or not, accounts vary) and fell and struck her head on the blade of the dozer or debris, accounts vary. Her injuries did not immediately appear to be particularly grievous. Until she was alone in a room with a Palestinian doctor.

Regardless, I have little sympathy for someone who injects herself into other people's disputes assuming her sex and her nationality will sheild her from any real consequences for the havoc and harm she wrecks.

This photo of Corrie offers a clearer representation of how she lived her short life.

Oh great.... Another memorial for St. Pancake. Maybe they'll burn a real American flag instead of the paper one that Rachel Corrie burned.

It is too bad tht she was so brainwashed by her Commie parents and the New Left retreads in college, but as I have family in Israel, I cannot work up sympathy for her.

Indeed. Had this stupid young woman actually been run over by a Cat-9 bulldozer she would have been like squashed cow poop in a field of grass.

I’m sure those NGOs were crushed when they heard it happened.
