For the teachers who abandoned their posts, may the 20 min seem like 20 hours.

The agreement also ensures teachers with unexcused absences will not be paid for those days and that teachers who submitted fraudulent sick notes will be suspended.

Every one of these lying little sh*ts should be fired.

And these lying cheats claim they should have care of our children?

Laws and morals apply to all of us, but NEA members can do anything they please.

Those Wisconsin teachers are SO fortunate I’m not a student there. My first question to them when they got back in the classroom would be, “So where’s your credibility now? Why shouldn’t a student cut classes and write phony excuses? You did!”

I love how we’re supposed to think an additional 18 minutes a day for two weeks, or whatever it is, is going to somehow magically make all the difference in what kids learn.

Our schools almost freely admit that all grading is submitted by the 3rd week of May, yet school is in session at least til the 2nd week of June. Most of that time is filled with things like “School Spirit” Day, Game Day, Field Day, Movie Day, or some other Garbage Day. Isn’t it time we do away with the legally required 180 days and worry about what the heck our kids are actually learning?!?!

I hope the little crumb-crunchers spread the word through the halls as to just why they are staying an extra 20 minutes in school on nice spring days and who exactly who it was that caused it.

And I hope they make those extra 20 minutes a living hell for the teachers that the students know walked out on their jobs.

What this all realy means is that the district still wants the federal money it would lose. Bunch of hypocrites! We’ve had to do the same thing in Texas for 4 days lost due to extreme freezing weather.

Fire every teacher who either can be shown protesting in public on a sick day OR who fails to profuce proof of illness. You don’t just get to skip work on a lie then “make it up.”

Now all those working parents get to shift their afterschool schedules ... just toaccommodate these selfish inion goons.

Forget it. Fire them all with the exceptions noted.

“Madison schools were closed to students Feb. 16-18 and Feb. 21 because a significant number of teachers called in sick to attend protests against a state proposal to limit public employee collective bargaining. Gov. Scott Walker signed it into law Friday.”

I was born and raised in Madison, but the disgusting display by public sector employees over that past 4 weeks makes prior idiotic actions taken in the “Fairyland of the Dairyland” pale in comparison.

Having been a member of unions throughout my entire working career (except the Air Force....they frowned on union organization:) I have one question as it relates to the statement noted above.

The article states that schools had to be closed because teachers called in sick to attend a protest, as though one act was the logical response to the other. I would like to review their collective bargaining agreement and see for myself if attending a protest is an appropriate use of sick leave.

Wisconsiin parents, you need to go to every one of your kids’ teachers at the affected schools and ask, eye to eye,

Did you call in sick on these dates?
On those same days, did you see a doctor? Other than for a doctor, did you leave your home/
Did you call in sick for political reasons?

Of course, they will lie, but the point is to confront them and let them know YOU AREN’T FOOLING ANYONE.

What will happen to the docs who gave the fraudulent doctor's excuses to the teachers? Will they be reported to the state medical board? They should face a hearing and have their licenses revoked or pay a very high (6 figure) fine. The state should subpoena the school districts to obtain the names of the doctors involved.

It’s not just the students and teachers schedules affected. There are the bus drivers, the parents, sitters, the buses and pickups happening later might even affect traffic patterns.

Ask them if they’re going to pay anything toward the 7.5 million dollars in damages they did to the people’s building. I don’t know a word for beyond disgusting.
