In other words, he called for an end to private sales of firearms and national gun registration.

The concept that the government could or should only “allow” certain people to have guns stands the very concept of American jurisprudence on its head. It presumes that the government knows all, controls all, and should be doing so. It is wrong and ineffective.

It is crazy to set up a huge expensive bureaucratic system, require everyone to jump though hoops and prove that they are *not* criminals in order to try, ineffectively, to prevent the few individuals who are not responsible, from having legal access to guns. This is a failed paradigm, and it should be abandoned. To accept the idea that the all gun sales should be monitored by the government, and only allowed to those it deems satisfactory is fundamentally wrong.

The entire idea of the enterprise has always been the death of a thousand cuts, where the restrictions on who can buy, and where, and how and what are continually increased until the number of gun owners is reduced to political insignificance.

Obama is a a barely concealed closet nationalist socialist.
He believes in the “power of protest” meaning that he thinks that unleashing disorder and bullying the citizens of our country with the threat of riot is a legitimate exercise of political power.

Of course Obama is against any social force which flies in the face of community organized mob rule.A single , brave patriotic gunman can stop a rioting mob in its tracks. This is why Obama wants to diminish 2nd amendment rights to the point that they are barely existing.

Obama’s mob rule thuggism is disguised by the image of “democracy movement,” “social justice,” “redistribution of wealth,” and “redefinition of history,” through imposed liberal fascist regimes of political correctness, defined by a traduced press and media.

Obama can take a long walk off a short pier. I wouldn’t even think of throwing him a life preserver.

This thread article is illustrative of how Obama works, slowly shoving his ice pick into the back of patriotic America, which remains loyal to the constitution.

Who is Obama? Read this. It paints a true picture.

"better record-keeping" is code for gun registration.

Nothing ever changes.

Obama extends olive branch in gun control debate

Our side has won the debate and is winning every day, so OBVIOUSLY we need to surrender.

to "stop the wrong people from getting their hands on a gun."

I'm all for stopping the wrong people from getting their hands on a gun. To that end, all politicians need to keep their stinking hands away from my guns.

Perhaps he should start at his own DO(I)J. Perhaps he should take the veil off the Gun Walker project and let the citizenry see who they have put in control of our general welfare.

This sounds reasonable, until you find out that WE are the "wrong people" that he has in mind.

"Fast and Furious" shows that the current system does work. ATFE knew they were putting guns, through straw buyers, into the hands of criminals.

The nut-job in Tucson wouldn't have gotten a gun if the local authorities had prosecuted any of his prior criminal activity. Even if they had put a 'no contact' order out on him, for any of the people he had threatened, it would have stopped him from walking into a large retailer and buying a weapon.

In essence there are so many wackos these days that I think law enforcement has gotten numb to it. I live in a quasi rural area and we have had several incidents in the last year that all involve people that everybody knew were nuts. The last one hit a deputy in the side of the head with a hammer and ended up dead, shot by the backup. That guy had a long history of violence, but violent criminals get let out jail quickly in Washington.

How about an instant, accurate way of checking
birth certificates to keep the White House out of
the wrong hands?

I’ve penciled in some time to worry about Obama’s gun control proposals. It’ll be every other Thursday between 1:30 and 1:31 pm.

The nut-job in Tuscon was well known to the clown sheriff. Under the radar screen, it turns out the nut-job’s mother works for the city of Tuscon. The 5 people who had reported death threats from Loughner were told ‘he's being managed’. The sheriff has been mighty quiet since bursting onto the national scene with his vacuous accusations. Yes, the tragedy could have been avoided if the law enforcement officials had done their jobs. But you won't read any of the truth of the situation in Big Media. They would rather have you think it was because of Palin, Limbaugh, etc. The system we have in place for checking works just fine if it is used. Loughner should have been hospitalized long ago and he never would have been able to purchase a gun.

Reasonable gun control is always about taking one of the freedoms you now enjoy and making it so armed men will come to your house and kill, arrest, or incarcerate you if you try to do it.

Sound reasonable?

Somebody needs to take Barry’s candy azz out to a gun range and put an AK in his two little girlie man hands and show him where the trigger is. Then get him liquored up and signed up for the NRA. LOL!!
