Why did the press ignore murderous rampage just outside nation’s capital?
The Examiner ^ | March 16, 2011 | Dave Gibson

Posted on 03/16/2011 7:40:54 AM PDT by La Lydia

On February 10, 2011, Prince William County police arrested Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro, 37, after he allegedly went on a shooting and stabbing spree which left three people dead and three others wounded. When he was taken into custody, the Salvadoran national had in his possession, a machete as well as a .38 caliber revolver...According to Manassas Police Chief Doug Keen, the suspect was ordered deported in 2002, but was never detained by federal immigration authorities and never left, despite two more arrests after his deportation order....

After only a brief mention the day after the attacks occurred, this case disappeared completely from newsrooms across the country. Why would the American press simply ignore a case in which a man running through the streets of a Washington D.C. suburb with a machete and a gun, left innocent victims both dead and severely wounded in his path?

Are the facts considered too gruesome for human consumption?...Could it be the fact that this case may demonstrate more clearly than any other to the American people why it is so important to fiercely defend our borders and actually enforce existing immigration laws?

Or, could it be as Virginia state Delegate Jackson Miller (R-Manassas) described it, the day after the attacks, when Del. Jackson said: “It’s another abject failure of the federal government. Now we have three innocent victims in my city, about a mile from my house there’s a murderous rampage. I am furious. … Yet it happens over and over and over again, and then we have to hear all of these apologetic excuses as to why we shouldn’t be addressing criminal illegal aliens on the state or local level. It’s just disgusting.”...

sadly, deportation wouldn’t have mattered. he’d have easily returned. unless and until our borders are EFFECTIVELY secured, our sovereignty is held by little more than a VERY costly and deadly revolving ‘door’.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ac/20110217/tr_ac/7881446_maryland_considers_tuition_breaks_for_illegal_immigrants_1

and guv’nuh o’malleable will sign it.

the criminal political jerks are aiding and harboring criminals.

build the freaking 2000 mile wall NOW

bus them all back to latin america NOW

arrest all illegal alien criminals NOW
and make them work while jailed.

this whole issue has me to the point where I HATE politicians, they are on the whole less-than worthless they are destroying our country.

The illegals aliens are here because those who hire them care nothing for their fellow American citizens ,only that the illegals work cheap.

If unions want to do something good for America and themselves, then the unions would be demanding enforcement of the laws forbidding illegal labor and immigration.

The base cause of illegal immigration, like illegal drugs, is a whole lot of greedy Americans who care only about their own short-term thrills.

“Illegal Immigrant”

It basically reveals how powerless Federal Gov’mt really has become when they can no longer perform their job.

Basically DC sucks money out of the states..and increasingly does whatever it pleases.

Good question. I was thinking about that myself.

I wonder how many fellow FReepers are even aware of this movie (just another body-blow in the Left’s war on America)?

Now that didn’t hurt so why don’t you simply post the entire article so we don’t have to visit a MySpace page?

What are you talking about? The Examiner site falls under the FR excerption rule: you can only post so many words when you start thread. Are you unfamiliar with the way that works? And I don’t understand your reference to MySpace. I don’t use it.

When I visit my sister in NOVA, I always find myself thinking that if someone was dropped there, unknowingly, they would have a hard time figuring out which country they were in.

we went to the Cox cable office to return some equipment, and we were the only white people in the whole place. We could just as easily been in a store in Quito, or Islamabad.

No, I don’t visit MySpace Blogs but since you do why not ask the Mods or Jim why they aren’t on the list?

La Lydia’s link goes to an article on the Examiner, not to a blog.

I think she’s just following the posting rules.
