According to AFP, Palin is also heading to the Far East after her Israel visit. If true, she's going to Japan. Samaritan's Purse is over there now.

She'll make a lot of news if she shows up there. Barry will not be happy being shown up like that. Expect mucho more narrative polls and hit pieces.

I don’t think she has time to stop in Japan. She has a speech in Florida next Wednesday (23rd).

The AFP’s wrong on two points:

1. Palin isn’t ultra conservative. She’s conservative.
2. Palin will be in the Far East first - Saturday night in India - and is visiting Israel on her way home.

That’s not to say she might not go to Japan; as Alaska’s gov she had major trade dealings with Japan and in fact, wrote a letter to the Obama admin in early 2009 when they tried to shut down some flights from Japan to AK. Can’t remember the details. But Japanese Loooooovve to vaca in AK, and the shutdown would’ve put a huge dent in AK tourism $$. So Gov Palin stepped in and got the policy changed.

Plus, she’s scheduled to speak in Naples, FL March 23, so no time for a Far East trip after Israel.
