Mike Pence, RINO, waffles on Hannity (defunding Obamacare)

Posted on 03/17/2011 3:18:31 PM PDT by JimWayne

I was listening to Sean Hannity's program and Mike Pence was on the show. Hannity asked him about the media reports about GOP battling its own right wing. Pence took the side of those NOT supporting the members who want to get rid of the $105B funding of Obamacare. That is, he does not support Bachmann's proposal.

He claimed he wanted to pick a fight, and that in 3 weeks he would be among those delivering the goods. Hannity specifically asked him if he would defund Obamacare in 3 weeks by opposing the $105 billion funding it has now. At this point he waffled and spoke on No Child Left Behind, TARP and Medicare and said that he would be united with other Republicans.

Hannity pushed him but to no avail. All he would say was that GOP would keep its pledge of going back to the 2008 levels.

When Hannity asked him why GOP was not supporting those who wanted to defund Obamacare, he spoke about how they made noises in the media and he praised Boehner and Eric Cantor as great leaders.

I had nothing against Mike Pence until now, but he has shown himself to be a RINO.

what is wrong with the GOP?
We have so many who are afraid of standing up to the left.
I’m not asking them to oppose the Dems on everything but for crying out loud stand for principles and if it means a fight then so be it.

It’;s like the GOP or many in it are thinking that if they say or do something which goes against the left then they will be called names off our corrupt media.

It’s high time that they understood the corrupt biased media are nothing more but a propaganda wing of the left.
Social issues, well Hannity and others are even cowards to mention about killing babies or the homosexual agenda.

Fiscal, they’ve got better but when it comes to this Govt health care then they seem to want to hide and leave the lies of Michelle Bachmann out on her own.

Face it. Nobody passes the Freeper “purity” test. Nobody.

The Freeper purity test is not that difficult. If you follow the Constitution you pass.

Why should we support ANYONE who does not prove by their words and actions that that will follow the Constitution?

Is it too much to ask to have politicians who actually have read, support and defend the Constitution?

The GOP is not going to deliver Jacks$@t. When you start signalling from day one that you are going to vote to raise the debt ceiling you are telling the Dems to come on over and take your lunch money. Its beyond pathetic. Its ridiculous. All this talk about negotiating is insane. The Dems don’t negotiate. They attack, stall and attack again. The GOP do not have the stomach for dealing effectively with the Demorats. They never have and I don’t know if they ever will. In the end all of us who went in good faith to the polls in Nov get screwed.

One simple vote agains’t raising the debt ceiling would force the Democrats to race around and priotitize spending to make sure the interest on the T Bills gets paid every month. Talk about super spending cuts. The Dems would scream and yell and finger point but by God they would be cutting spending like never before. But it won’t happen so don’t worry.

They just don’t seems to get it. The republican party was DOA after the 2008 election. The tea party rose up and saved them. If the tea party decides to turn their back on the Repubs. they will be right back where they were in 2008 (DOA).

Daniels first day in office he de-certified the UAW as representative of state employees. Then he got re-elected in 08 in a state that went for Baraq.

I am ready, and the time is NOW. No reason at all to wait one more day. Let’s get started, just you and me if we have to. Someone great will come along better than either of us sooner or later, but LET’S ROLL.

I heard the interview and man, Pence just completely pissed me off. Every time Hannity tried to get a yes or no answer out of him, he seamlessly slipped into either a side-step, or started bloviating about how wonderful the Republican leadership is — “Boehner’s a great guy! Blah blah blah blah etc. etc.”

My final thought just before flipping the dial was, “B.O.H.I.C.A!”

Frankly I could care less if Pence’s Republican buddies in Congress are “great guys” or “nice guys.” We’re not paying our representatives to be nice. What most of us want is for Boehner and his crew to obey the people’s will by slashing and burning Obamacare to the ground, and then march to the sea from there. No quarter, no compromise. Just get it done using all lawful options, including so-called “nuclear” ones if necessary. And get it done fast.

come on... Mike Pence is a good guy. Calling him a RINO is out of line. Kindly reserve the epithet for real RINOs.

What we have going on here is that those wanting change, are just going to have to wait while coalitions are built. The GOP will cut a little bit from spending each and every year, at the same time as they cut taxes. The cutting of taxes will spur economic growth, and the extra revenue that will flow into the coffers, along with the cuts of course, will lead to a NIRVANA of a balanced budget.

IS THAT THE STRATEGY?

How long have you been watching politics? That was what Reagan said. Guess what, nobody, no not ANYONE cuts spending. Unless they are willing to balance the budget within 1 year from today, they are lying. There is no other way, but to cut the budget to the flippin' bone while you have a chance.

I heard for years about how "once we hold the levers of power in the House, Senate and the Executive, we will be able to return the fiscal house to order". Guess what happened, it never happened. GW Bush and the tax and spend Republicans came to town. Oh they cut taxes on the face of it, but added in the hidden tax of deficits which are an absolute tax on each and every citizens wallet. I just flat out don't believe any of them if they told me the sky was up. How are the Republicans going to face the Democrats down in 2012? Which would people rather vote for? The guys in charge of the biggest deficits in history.....the CONGRESS....who do you think will put that on TV 24/7? Or as guys going down swinging for the little guy as big govt rolls them over? I think that they think that they can win a bigger majority, work really slowly for some change, and bring in a better day in 20 years or so. EXCUSE ME, we don't have 6 years until the debt bomb explodes.

I also remember in or around 2000, a prominent radio personality say "if we get controls of both House and Senate, and win the Presidency, and still nothing is done about making govt substantially smaller, I will support a new party". Guess what, that time has come and gone....RUSH LIMBAUGH, which party are you going to champion?

Sorry if I went off on you, but this baby out with the bath water is one of the oldest BS lines in the business. It is used to keep frightened people from making substantial changes. It is past time for people on the side of small limited govt to fight. It is time to unite behind radical change. A change back to the time of limited govt, within the confines of the Constitution, defined by the 10th amendment, or die trying.

Pence....we’d have to check his personal finances to see if he was “gotten to”....
?????

which reminds me...did we ever find out how successful Dumbo was in going after Swiss accounts?....or is that how he is blackmailing certain people?

I just spoke to my rep, David Dreier (California). I asked the phone person, not Dreier, why they had passed another CR and had not addressed Obamacare. I was shocked at the answer. “If they, the Republicans, shut the government down, people would not get their SS checks and she would not be there to answer the phone.” I asked about attending a townhall meeting next week with Mr. Dreier and she asked me where I heard that. She informed me they do not have Townhall meetings. Dreier won the last election with a 70% majority. We have a problem.

I heard Rep Kingston on Hugh Hewitt yesterday. He had the same talking points and failure to communicate as Pence’s interview and my phone conversation with David Dreier’s folks. What is going on?

Exactly. If Pence does not follow exactly the same strategy that one Freeper happens to espouse, he's a RINO. And if you stand up for the "RINO," you get flamed. There's no room for honest disagreement.

That’s exactly right and Mike Pence said as much in his interview with Sean.
