Madison -- Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi issued a temporary restraining order Friday, barring the publication of a controversial new law that would sharply curtail collective bargaining for public employees.
Sumi’s order will prevent Secretary of State Doug La Follette from publishing the law until she can rule on the merits of the case. Dane County Ismael Ozanne is seeking to block the law because he says a legislative committee violated the state’s open meetings law.
Sumi said Ozanne was likely to succeed on the merits.

Ok Gov Walker need to start sending out layoff notices.
Seems like the Governor has no choice but to starting cutting budgets including say a 25% reduction in the salaries of state judges.

The district asked the judge to impose a temporary restraining order to bar teachers from participating in further work stoppages. It referred to the teachers’ protests in the capital as a strike, which are illegal under state law. The judge refused to categorize the work stoppage as a strike and said that the district could not prove irreparable harm had been caused by the teachers

Entirely predictable. I seriously doubt this law ever goes into effect. The Dems are just going to tie it up in court for as long as it takes for them to get a majority back in one of the state Houses (most probably the state Senate) or recall the Governor. Once the law is completely struck down by leftist judges, they will have the numbers to prevent passing it again. In the meantime they are mobilized for the supreme court election in April to make sure they create a liberal tilt of the court to continue frustrating any chance this law has to be implemented.
What is amazing is how many conservatives actually thought this fight had been won and it was over.

I’m not so sure about that. I don’t think they’re even in session right now. And I think I read that the AG, a dem, has to post the bill, and insisted on taking 10 days or so to do that.
Correct, it is not an easy fix. AG is a Republican. The SoS has to publish the bill. He was waiting as long as possible to do so because he knew a liberal court would issue this ruling. There are enough leftists in the courts in Wisconsin to see to it that this new law is not implemented anytime soon. They will tie it in knots until they can get a different balance in the legislature or perhaps a different governor. This fight will be going on for a very long time.
Why does anyone imagine “Lefty” La Follette was delaying so long — takes a while to shop judges, I guess. But larger issue is to delay until April election when lefties hope WI SC Judge Prossser will be defeated by the lefty canidate and the case sent to the Court where it will be struck down.
Conservatives have been researching judges and have voted a few really arrogant leftist ones out.
Small, but now, all the judges pay close attention to the elections.
Sadly it won't save California, but it might save responsible states.
