NASHUA – Following a community outcry, organizers of a respected women's seminar have retracted their invitation to have actress Jane Fonda speak at the event.
With threats of a possible protest looming, Fonda will no longer serve as the keynote speaker for the New Hampshire Women's Leadership Summit scheduled for June 10 at Nashua Community College.
Last week, several veterans spoke in opposition of Fonda's public appearance in New Hampshire, calling her a traitor and anti-American.
"In recent days, we have heard voices in our community expressing moving objections to the selection of our main keynote speaker," Dr. Annabel Beerel, founder of the summit, wrote in a statement issued Friday. "While the summit encourages public discourse and diverse opinions, we do not wish to cause pain to our veterans. In addition to the many outstanding presenters and panels scheduled, we are working on engaging a new keynote (speaker) for the conference."
"She had accepted," college president Lucille Jordan said Saturday of Fonda. "But the Summit has disinvited her."

My question: Why in the hexx was she even invited?
She was only able to reconcile with reconcile while making on On Golden Pond, which was just shortly before his death.
The split lasted about 20 years.
Hey, that is something that Vets could push for -- teaching about the betrayal of Jane Fonda as a list of great American Betrayers such as Benedict Arnold.

I think someone passed some law because of the McCarthy hearings of the 1950s.
But I am not 100% sure about this.
About 10 years ago I posted something on FreeRepublic.com about Hanoi Jane, and some Vets had severe emotional trouble just at the mention of her name.
It made me regret posting that thread -- it hurt some vets that bad at that time. Hopefully, they have had healing, and let us pray for healing for vets who need healing...
They are unaware of what happened except what the liberal media has spoon fed them -- unless they have grandparents and parents who tell them about this episode of American History.
I wonder if we should try to get our Republican House to pass a resolution to have children taught about the betrayal of America by Jane Fonda. Just as children are taught about Benedict Arnold, maybe they should be taught about Hanoi Jane.
Maybe Hanoi Jane was invited because Mumia couldn't get free for the day.

I think back than it was who her family was. I have always wondered even though her father I think was a liberal if the estrangement between her and her father was over the Vietnam issue.
As do I, HS. Her acts were treasonous, but that doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Whatever happened to hanging traitors?

Even if you are a liberal, what Jane Fonda was a betrayal of this country. And I am fairly certain that her family Henry Fonday knew this, and was a source of split...
