WASHINGTON -- The United States welcomed a partial handover for the Libyan air campaign to NATO on Thursday, but the allies apparently balked at assuming full control and the U.S. military was left in charge of the brunt of combat.
NATO agreed to take over command of the newly established no-fly zone over Libya, protective flights meant to deter Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi from putting warplanes in the air. That leaves the U.S. with responsibility for attacks on Gadhafi's ground forces and other targets, which are the toughest and most controversial portion of the operation.
The U.S had hoped the alliance would reach a consensus Thursday for NATO to take full control of the military operation authorized by the United Nations, including the protection of Libyan civilians and supporting humanitarian aid efforts on the ground. It was not immediately clear when the allies could reach agreement on the matter.

It seems to me, according to Obama’s past stances, that Obama is putting Gadhafi through a form of torture by having him boxed in while trying to attack him.
Which means Obama should put himself on trial too.
Sure, put our troops in danger. This guy needs to be impeached.
Where's the righteous indignation of the "morally superior" < /sarc> left when you need them?
Where are the protestors, demonstrating against U.S. involvement in another Mideast war, when you need them?
Where are the "No War For Oil" signs?
Where are the sound-bites from Capitol hill, demanding to know why a president is trampling the Constitution and sending U.S. forces into harm's way, sans congressional approval?
Another mess, with the U.S. tangled up in it by a democrat president, which has the potential (likelihood, anyone?) of keeping the U.S. for a while.
In the long-term? U.S. stays involved in the Libyan civil war for a dozen years trying to sort things out. The "Arab allies" reduce their presence and drop out, one by one.
By campaign time, 0 and TOTUS realize they need campaign propaganda, and announce an "exit strategy" which is unrealistic timed for after the election.
When the 2012 election sends the poseur president packing, the unworkable exit strategy is shelved, and whoever the republican president is gets blamed for the U.S. "still" being in Libya in the succeeding campaign, 2015.
And the beat goes on . . .
Obama has clean hands because he has NO HANDS....which means that he is a dangerous man as he happens to be POTUS.
Syria, Yemen, Bahrein....and more and more are waiting for their savior , the islamo-friendly POTUS, Obozobamaaaaaaaa who will bring peace and luuuuuuv to the whole world

THAT’S NOT PART OF A “No Fly” Zone..Where in the world did (Obama) get the authority for this?? I don’t want our troops fighting Quadaffi on the ground (or even intervening more than just a “no fly zone”) WTH?
