I’d be pissed too, if I were from Wisconsin.

POlitics in my opinion can be sacrificed because our politica beliefs are more important than the reputation or classification of your political affiliations...

If the democrat and Republican Parties fail, it is because they lost total focus on the reasons for their existance...

Power and status are the reasons the leadership of these two main political parties consider their sole purpose in existing, and who they can woo to continue to give them support...

If the unaffiliated people in this country want to riot and pilage and plunder, we need to take on the same phylosophy of the flight 93 people who gave their lives toprotect others...We need to have the same committment to sacrifice to protect our friends and nieghbors from the same sort of anarchy and chaos as they did against committed terrorists...

As far as I am concerned mobs of anarchists are basically cowards as individuals...They feel brave and secure in numbers, and still hide behind msaks and bandanas to hide their identities because of future scrutiny after the fact...

Pop a few, and the survivors slink back into anonimity...

Honestly I do not see a political downside to reacting in such a manner...But they started it, others will finish it, and those who survive will never be that unhappy ever again because of their stupidity...

I would safely assume most Americans are getting tired of this BS, and are just about ready to take a few slugs to school because of it...

But I would be very careful about how I would carry myself in the midst of all of this, just be cool, watch what your write and say, and maybe chaos won’t come to fruition...

Well Pickett’s Charge was, in my opinion, not a total failure as an act in a battle...Meybe its design was to spur others to courage and take on the battle in a different tact...Their sacrifice may have gottena few people on both sides to re-think some strategy and come up with a better solution...(Just thinking outside the box here)

But...

If there was ever a reason to pass legislation to keep the effort to reign in spending (i.e.: zero-based budget rules), that to me, would be an acceptable outcome, and reason to purse that to the ends of the earth to get that in place to save the overall fiscal integrity of the country...

Just my opinion...

Thanks for post. I appreciate the comments. I don’t doubt that many were hurt by the Thatcher free-market cure, but there was really no choice. It had to be done. And the results proved it.

BTW..have you read Claire Berlinski’s latest..”Why Margaret Thatcher Matters”..Brilliant..

The “StartUpBritain initiative sounds very promising..but they will of course shorten it to “SUB”

Not quite as poignant at Obama’s WTF....more akin to Gerry Ford’s WIN ( Whip Inflation Now) nheck..Ford even had Meredith Wilson ( The Music Man) write a song about WIN

Be well

Absolutely...But we also need to be careful what we wish for, of course...

When we lose the efectiveness at the ballot box, is when the situation becomes more unstable...And we need to do what we can to keep the peoples voice as pristine as humanly possible...

The opposition wants to destroy that system, yet make it work for them at whatever cost...

And they paid a big price for that in the last election...That election too was a very good start to getting things slowed down enough to leave siomethign of this country to work with in the next election cycle...We need to duplicate the same, if not better the result...

If anyone thinks our job is done after November 2011, By all due respect, get the heck out of my way...We are not done by a longshot...

But if we ever lose our ability for fair elections, free from as much fraud and chicanery as they can put upon us, then sure, our options kinda open up to other alternatives...

I just think we can be smarter and more committed to keep it from getting that bad, we just need to keep our eye on the ball, so to speak...

It ain’t gonna be easy!!!

I guess not.

But the world might be greatly improved by straight-talking coal miners threatening to “chin” abusive callers...

Oh, you’ll get no argument from me there about it being necessary; the point I was getting was that the “hurt” was so localized.

Our chip shop’s got a former miner in there.

My wife asked him if he did vegetarian burgers, he pulled a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, and whispered “Aye but don’t tell anyone ‘cos them’s for puffs.”

‘Er indoors is proper Yorkshire, so she just enquired as to what oil he uses. He pointed to a normal kitchen deep fat fryer with a sticker on it: “For the Abnormals”. “Vegetable oil. D’you want the chips fried in vegetable oil as well, or in juicy meaty lard, like they’re supposed to be cooked”.

Having established the customer’s order through established South Yorkshire diplomatic protocols, I kid you not, he muttered, “Aye, there’s always one f****** awkward customer”... and switched the fryer on.

“Be ready in half an hour, pet.”

I’m sorry, I can’t tell if oil or lard was the default. I’d prefer lard myself.

I think your suggestion is good, although I don’t see it coming to that, politicians aren’t that stupid. They know their budget is filled with fluff that cannot stand the scrutiny of even dim bulbs.

I’ve suggested just that for real government budgets and you get a cabal of bureaucrats and elected liberals undermining the move immediately. They do get it.

Furthermore, I wouldn’t characterize Walkers’ move as “Pickett’s Charge”. He’s not out of it by any means. The next big step is to win the recall elections and potentially increase his count to 20.

The Democrats and their union allies are in a bad place. If they lose they lose big. If they win they simply get a draw.

Tactically yes. Politically no.

If the Dems win it will be spun as a huge repudiation, of, uh, well...it won't be just politics it will be a huge repudiation of the concept of "taking medicine" and rejection of "restoring fiscal sanity" by the voters.

IT's like a child who said "ok I'll take the medicine" and then once he tastes it, spits it out on the carpet.

I don't particularly have any faith in the American electorate as a whole anymore.

Fact is, there is always Uncle Sugar in washington, and the more Christie and Walker play the "States can't just print money" the more likely the Dems will swoop in and say, "well, then,....that's why we NEEEEEED a bunch of state bailouts!"

Dems have the luxury of selling a pig-in-a-poke by saying, "you ain't gotta take your medicine sweetie....we can get free candy from the feds."

And when it comes down to a responsible, moral decision between responsibility+pain -vs- irresponsibility+gain, I don't think the voters will make the right choice.

I don't even believe Churchill anymore. "America can always be counted on to do the right thing, after she has exhausted all other options."

I always believed there would be a tipping point against the government, but I fear the tipping point might now be an uprising in favor of the government.

I think you're probably right. Any "flashpoint" of "old America" you see will end up more like Waco.

Isolated patriots (not saying Koresh was a patriot, but I am saying that any patriots who fight back will be given the exact same child molester, gun nut, psycho messiah media treatment that he was given, deserved or not.) For crying out loud, look what they have done to the reality of the Tea Partier! Very clearly law abiding grannies have been branded and sold as "scary, violent, neo-nazi racists."

When in fact, the thugs on the other side have been labeled "peaceful protesters for Democracy."

Anyway, the only true revolt possible when the moochers overtake the makers will be "Atlas Shrugging."

The producers have to stop feeding the machine. If we have passed the point of no return, then there can be no Alamos that lead to a San Jacinto victory. There can only be a desolation left by not giving productive light to "their" world. So to the extent guns can be used to protect your family while the looters loot, that's about it. Turning directly to a Constitutional Restoration movement as in Mexican Texas I just don't think can work in the modern age...in other words, I don' think we'd see much better results than the thugocracies that filled the voids in Afghanistan, Iraq, "Palestine," Egypt, Libya etc..

It will be interesting to see how the general public and the media responds to the new Atlas Shrugs Movie coming out on April 15!

The media in countries like Egypt, Syria, Libya, and even in the ex USSR were totally govt controlled. It didn’t save them.

No doubt. But that reinforces buckalfa's suggestion.

"I always believed there would be a tipping point against the government, but I fear the tipping point might now be an uprising in favor of the government"

The problem is that at this point, like in those other countries, a revolution is more likely to evolve power further into the hands of the most organized thuggery, as the Muslim Brotherhood shows in Egypt.

We would like to revert back to the moral, erudite foundations of the forefathers, but it may no longer be possible in the ignorant, slovenly, amoral climate we now face.
