ources tell me that budget negotiators on Capitol Hill have tentatively agreed on a deal that would involve at least $33 billion in spending cuts from this years budget. Thats $23 billion dollars more than Democrats have previously agreed to in short-term continuingresolutions, and $28 billion less than Republicans previously passed in the House.
Members of the House Appropriations Committee will begin discussing how to hit that number with their Senate counterparts as soon as tonight, and Vice President Biden is heading to Capitol Hill for a 6pm meeting with the Senate Democratic leadership.

The government deficit spends at the rate of approximately 4 billion a day. Their paltry 33 billion dollar cut takes care of the first 9 days approximately. What do these clowns propse to do for the next 356 days.
This is all we get from an historic electoral repudiation of Obama and the democrats?
What a raw deal. Throw them all out!
Epic fail.
Your off by three zeros. Even 100 bill is not even a starting point V. 1.4 trill
I’ll go first.....and call BS.
There has been no evidence to support this.
Hey here is an idea. Let’s be civil!
Kick that can down the road a little further...............
SHUT THE DAMN THING DOWN!
Time for the Tea Party to form. Screw the Whiglicans they are a waste of time.
So much for Republican “extremism”
One miniscule drop in a 100-gallon barrel. Why even bother?
Anybody wanna buy a slightly used tagline? Lowest bidder takes it; all but the BURMA SHAVE.
It makes me sad and furious to know that my child will spend their adult lives in an economic hell-hole.
Update: Kevin Smith, a spokesman for the Speaker of the House, tells me "There is no agreement on a number for the spending cuts. Nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to.IMHO, that's just blather to make us feel better. I call BS on the whole thing.
I'm getting damned sick and tired of being treated like a child. We need reps with hugh brass balls in DC right now. Who's got em?
Time to start lining up a tea party candidate for every incumbent (RINO or Demoncrat).
“GOP aide tells NRO that these appropriations talks are unlikely to include the controversial limitations or policy riders defunding of Obamacare and Planned Parenthood, etc. included in H.R. 1, the long-term spending resolution that the House passed in February...”

“So much for Republican ‘extremism.’”
Oh, the GOP is extreme, alright.....
Extremely predictable.
I despise Pelosi, but at least she is willing to FIGHT for whatever perverted cause she advocates! Why do we ALWAYS see the weakest of the prominent GOPers given the Speaker's gavel???
Am I missing something here? The dems' going-in position was $30B cuts; the GOP's $100B. And they settled at $33B?? And that's a "compromise"?? No, that's an old-fashioned capitulation.
And, of course, they'll be back at it in 2012, wanting our vote again, because they'll really, really, really, REALLY mean business next time!
frickin cowards
