White House statement via Time:

White House spokesman Jay Carney issued a no-comment, non-denial.

"As is common practice for this and all Administrations, I am not going to comment on intelligence matters. I will reiterate what the President said yesterday – no decision has been made about providing arms to the opposition or to any group in Libya. We're not ruling it out or ruling it in. We're assessing and reviewing options for all types of assistance that we could provide to the Libyan people, and have consulted directly with the opposition and our international partners about these matters."

Ground troops (non SOF) will be in Libya by the end of April. Count on this.

Yep. It's a quagmire, all right.

President Cloward-Piven's only goal is to overwhelm the system.

Mission accomplished!

Can’t we just offer a Libyan a few million to deprive Gaddafi of oxygen?
Thousands of lives and billions would be saved.

I suspect this is NOTHING MORE than more of the same propaganda from this marxist administration. Much like the marxist convenes experts panels and committees or shadow organizations or appoints czars or orders studies --AL THIS to lend an air of credibility to the truly incredible -to paint legitimate that which reeks illegitimacy!

No doubt. the secret CIA mission we all know about will find the rebels to be fine Christian soldiers eating apple pie and waving American flags and wanting freedom and democracy!

I call BS on this!!!

Wake Up America -we got us a tyrant in the oval office!

The CIA has been on the ground from the very beginning, i.e., even before we launched the no-fly zone.

No doubt CIA hs been on the ground since the bombing began. Someone has to identify the good guys so they are not obliterated by C130’s.

One problem with having a narcissistic psychopath as commander in chief is the seeming need to get all this typically secret information out to try and make the sicko appear tough.

From a West Point study of jihadists in Iraq:

A breakout of the hometowns of Libyan jihadists who showed up in Iraq:

Note that the 84% of the jihadists came from Darnah and Benghazi, both rebel strongholds that were (as pointed out in the West Point study) previously the scene of Islamist uprisings in the mid-1990's.

This is how our involvement in Vietnam started.

Granted, Libya has a relatively small population, but with hostile regimes on the horizon in Egypt and Yemen, along with the ease through which African foreign fighters can enter the country, we’re seeing the unfolding of a quagmire.

And still... we have NO FRIGGING IDEA of the Libyan insurgents’ aims!

I’m very sorry for the families of those troops whose lives will be lost in the coming ground action. How should the notifications be worded... “Please know your son/daughter gave his/her life for the flag of islam?” Because it sure as hell wasn’t for the cause of freedom.

Uuuuhhhh...Didn't the U.S. and former administrations used to DENY things like this??

Why are we telegraphing ourselves?
/no need to answer...it was rhetorical.
