I must have missed that, where did she say injecting Nitrogen was a good thing?

No, she said that exposure to nuclear radiation can be a good thing.

Ann Coulter spoke the truth when she said there is scientific evidence that low levels of raidation are helpful not harmful.

The linear model and ‘no safe dose’ assumptions about radiation are scientifically wrong and contrary to a large body of scientific evidence that shows LOWER cancer rates to those exposed to low-level radiation. The body creates repair mechanisms to those low levels that adds (akin to vaccines) immunity to radiation induced DNA damage, and that immunity reduces cancer and other health risks.

http://www.townsendletter.com/Jan2005/dirtybombs0105.htm

http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/articles/nuclear.html
“Low-dose radiation has been shown to enhance biological responses for immune systems, enzymatic repair, physiological functions, and the removal of cellular damage, including prevention and removal of cancers and other diseases. Research on low-level radiation has also shown it to have no adverse effects. “

http://www.mitosyfraudes.org/Ingles2/Rad-1.html

Anyone claiming she is wrong is just bashing out of ignorance.

I think Ann actually understands radiation better than most. Her comments were well within the realm of scientific thought. But they were either not understood, or seemed too insensitive in the moment.

You should go - for your own health benefits. See below. We should send all the fearmongers about radiation in there; it would teach them to stop spreading unwarranted fears.

http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/articles/nuclear.html

Notwithstanding this reality, by 1950, Dr. Lorenz states: “It is well-known that absorption of ionizing radiation by tissues is connected with damage, no matter how small the dose,” in a study that showed that whole mice had longer lifespans than controls in research that exposed the mice to chronic radiation at 0. 11 r/day, or about 40 r/year.6

Marshall Brucer, M.D., states with respect to the Manhattan Project:7

Their first experiment, raising mice in an atmosphere of uranium dust, showed exposed mice lived longer than controls. They set up an arbitrary Maximum Permissible Dose (MPD) after proving that mice in radiation fields 10 times the MPD lived longer than controls.

After World War II, Brucer writes, about 20 articles per year mentioned hormetic effects but:

Health Physicists soon learned that their livelihood depended on scaring the pants off Congress. Every Genetics budget meeting opened its request for funds with an anti-nuclear litany. During the 1960s and 1970s about 40 articles/year described hormesis. In 1963, the AEC [Atomic Energy Commission] repeatedly confirmed lower mortality in guinea pigs, rats, and mice irradiated at low dose. In 1964, the cows exposed to about 150 rads after the Trinity A-bomb in 1946 were quietly euthanized because of extreme old age. In 1981, T.D. Luckey revived a very obvious radiation hormesis. No experimental evidence of damage at low doses existed; self-serving extrapolations from high dose-data dominated health physics.7

...yes, and your banana has way more radiation than any food coming from Japan, but we have idiot Congress critters trying to ban Japanese sushi that’s not even affected. oh well.

“No, hydrogen in the reactor is not explosive unless there is oxygen present. The idea is to purge the reactor of oxygen thereby making it non explosive. You would just have to do it once. They wouldn’t have to use nitrogen, they could use CO2 instead.”

Actually, the hydrogen is, if I am not mistaken, present from the disassociation of a water molecule, which would result in a perfectly volatile and explosive mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. You can’t get hydrogen without also getting the oxygen to make it go “boom”.

It would need to be a continuous process to evacuate the hydrogen and oxygen.

Found this news tidbit.

TEPCO releases new footage of Number 4 reactor

He says at least 90 tons of water a day need to be pumped in to cool the stored fuel rods. The pool in Number 4 reactor building holds over 1,300 spent rods, more than those kept in other units.

As it turns out you are mistaken... The zirconium oxidizes in the presents of high temperature and water(steam), and hydrogen is released the oxygen is bound up in the zirconium. It’s the same process that produces hydrogen when you pass steam over hot iron. You get rust and hydrogen.

Why do you people keep mentioning Ann Coulter. Her blog cited university studies, go take it up with them.

So because she mention university studies everything she says is the Gospel truth? No garbage ever comes from university studies/s

LOL!

*****

A word of advice for Coulter followers.....do not follow behind her if she is ever near a cliff. She may jump and you would all follow.

You should go - for your own health benefits. See below...

You know, the Japanese are probably paying a lot of money for unskilled laborers to work at the Fukushima plant and risk getting some of that healthy nuclear radiation. You should go there and work. You can get healthy and rich at the same time. I bet they would pay your airfare and room and board to boot.

Put some feet to your faith. The Japanese could use your labor and your expertise. And you can load up on all that healthy radiation. I bet Ann Coulter will be willing to go with you. She looks a little pale from not having been dosed with any plutonium particles since they stopped above ground nuclear tests in the 60's.

Not sure how seriously I should take those links.

They cannot even spell the word science.

If they believed what they say, they would be on a plane over there with their families in tow.

We all know that will never happen.

If I believed that nonsense, I would be headed there right now and ready to put in 16 hours a day soaking up all that healthy plutonium dust and raking in $250 per hour. I have a couple of hundred hours of vacation saved up, and if you believe all these Coulter-bots, there's not a health spa on the planet better than the beaches in front of the Fukushima power plants.

I suspect you could by beach front property there for 50 cents an acre. Maybe Ann Coulter can open up a health spa for all of her loyal followers.

It’s sad to see so many people buy into her nonsense, when I don’t believe even she is serious about what she says. (at least I hope not!)

She wants to grab headlines, and she does. But be taken seriously?

Not in a million years.

Laura Ingraham and Charles Krauthammer are at one end of the spectrum, Coulter is at the other.

Our military, which pre-Obama used to be in the business of winning wars, always taught me to get the hell away from radiation. They had all these briefings about downwind reports, contaminated areas, not entering the area, etc., etc.

Seems they were concerned with preserving a healthy fighting force so they could win wars.

We would practice getting washed down, wearing protective gear, and all kinds of neat things to enhance force survivability.

If only Coulter had told them sooner that they would be better off being bitten by the radioactive spider...battalions and battalions of Spider Men!

Take that AhmadineGoblin, Doc KhadaffiPus. Way to go Spidey!

Did a search on the topic nitrogen and there is not much out there. Some are speculating that they may be going to use liquid nitrogen for cooling purposes ?
